I'm so glad we finished 7-9 and not 5-11

Those extra 2 wins will be tremendous for us this offseason when we hang our hat on this season. Those 2 wins give us pride and joy and a bright future. I'm so glad we are drafting 15, I'd hate to be in range for a guy worth a frick that can upgrade a position on our team and make someone unemployed. Drafting 6th or 7th will be too tough of a decision for this front office. Lets sit back at 15 and figure out who nobody wants first. I'm thinking we can get a defensive tackle who can't stop the run or one of the DE's that can't rush the passer. I'm fricking Stoked Yo.

No one said we won't make a trade to go grab someone Loomis and Payton want.

Relax... they got this.

I somewhat agree.

The talent drop-off outside of the top 10 picks is pretty large. I was actually somewhat thrilled with the idea of losing out (when we were 0-4) and getting the first pick.

I'm glad we won some games, and I was absolutely all-in for maybe sneaking into the playoffs.. But we're about at the last place a team wants to be. Outside of the playoffs, but not with a good draft pick.

We were still alive for the playoffs and we don't know how people will do at the combines and who will fall to us at 15. Heck if we get our 2nd round pick back maybe we can trade up and draft a real playmaker.

There is nothing that burns my fleshy underbridge more than a team being eliminated from the playoffs and THEN deciding maybe it's time to get it together.

HOWEVER, I will say that maybe, just maybe, 15 could be the sweet spot for a highly sought after player to drop due to a run on a position. :shitsinonehand:

Hoping we trade back and get more picks. We need all the help we can get.

With the inaccuracy of predicting success in the NFL, the saints odds of picking a difference maker with the 15th pick is not horrible. The difference from top 10 and 15 is not incredible. Every year players picked way after pick 15 go on to be big time contributers. I'm not predicting that the Saints will pick a game changer in the first round because our first round picks have a tendency to be underwhelming. I'm not getting upset either.

It wasn't until after Week 16 that we were eliminated from playoff contention so you're saying that we should have just quit instead?

Goddamn, son. Go get laid.

You're taking this shite way too seriously.

The Saints will draft the BPA who will be a starter and have a solid rookie year, occasionally showing flashes of brilliance. He'll probably be considered one of the 15 best players from the combine, and there will probably be some who'll insist he came to the Saints with a top ten grade, with a small minority wishing we had taken whoever NYG or NE takes.

But if we consider the Saints draft trends, whomever the pick is, he'll likely be outproduced by a mid-rounder (like All-Pro's Graham or Evans did), or even an UDFA gem (like PT or Moore). Point is, you're blinded over marginal differences & not seeing the Big Picture.

Which is a sign you just need some trim.

Well said.

You forgot to mention that those 2 wins also take some of the stench off the defensive play (wait, the defense still ended up being the worse in history. Never mind).
