Let's assume everyone eligible to leave on defense will and that Miles won't make a change at OC/his control over the offense, what do we have?

I'm concerned a lot with the front four. We're losing 4 lineman and you can say we just reload there but you're going to replace three great players easily. Freak has played very well in limited snaps but he doesn't seem to have the work ethic to be an every down DT. Ego will likely be the other DT and he hasn't shown anything at LSU yet. Behind him, no experience. DE, we have zero experience except Rasco and he hasn't shown much of anything yet either. Not looking good there.

LBs should be ok if we can find someone to replace MLB. I think we'll see a drop there because Minter commanded the middle and I don't think we'll see someone with an immediate impact like that. We saw a lot of potential in the freshman LBs who play, especially Deon Jones/Kwon Alexander. I don't think either could play MLB, so maybe Barrow slides over with Tahj/Kwon/Deon for Sam/Will.

Secondary is iffy. Loston can't stay healthy for the life of him and he's mediocre in coverage. Only other S with experience is Martin and he has shown potential but I'm not sure he's physical enough to play the position to come up for run support. We should be good at CB with both Jalens starting and I expect a freshman to come in and get heavy PT. White appears to be a dominant HS CB who will probably immediately get PT here. Micah Eugene might even slide to S depending on the Martin and the other S progression.

I'm not even really going to touch offense. They've shown very little to be optimistic about and regressed as the season passed. The only bright light is an Oline that SHOULD be better in theory with Faulk but we're also breaking a new C in which can be a HUGE difference for chemistry. Olines always regress under Stud though. Hill is a stud but Miles seems to forget he's the best RB on the team for some odd reason.

We have a brutal schedule next year and I think it's realistic to say our defense will not be as good either. Mostly from the front four. I see LSU losing at least 3 games maybe 4 if the offense isn't vastly improved. Thoughts?

Too much talent on D bolting and Les Miles will still be the HC

lol, based on what? the coaches retardly giving Downs all those snaps. and yeah he had a sack last night, great. check Freak's stats vs. his.

I like the secondary and the LBs even with guys turning pro.

I wish my fist could touch Stud upside his head about 10 times.

If all the juniors declare that could, we are totally fricked. This would be the defense...

DE: JR. Rasco, JR. Maclin
DT: JR. Freak, SO. Thomas
DT: JR. Ferguson, SO. M Johnson
DE: SO. Hunter, JR. Allen
OLB: SR. Barrow, SR. Muncie
MLB; SO. Feist, JR. Welter
OLB: SR. Jones, SO. Alexander
CB: SO. Mills, SO. Collins
S: JR. Martin, SO. Sandolph
S: SO. Thompson, SO. Eugene
CB: FR. White, rFR. Thomas/Raymond

Bah, just a big dropoff from this year's D. We cant afford to lose Logan, Minter, Simon and Loston

Are there really folks still out there who believe making a change at OC would matter?

Schedule and inexperience make 9-3 a good possibility. But each year brings surprises, and all we can do is hope for the best.
