Trent Richardson: I want the Browns to go after Saban

Trent Richardson modified his stance on whether he thinks his former Alabama coach, Nick Saban, would jump to the NFL.
Before Pat Shurmur was fired, Richardson was emphatic in saying he does not believe Saban would leave Alabama.
On Monday, Richardson remained doubtful, but he said he hopes the Browns will chase him.
At one point, someone in an interview cluster thought Richardson had said he hopes for a head coach who is “more hard-nosed” than Shurmur.
“That’s not what I said,” Richardson said. “I’m not saying that Pat is not hard-nosed. You all know Coach Saban, how hard-nosed he is. He kind of sets the baseline for that.”
Saban has been linked to the Browns for months. He was a defensive coordinator for Bill Belichick’s Browns in the 1990s.
“It would be tough to convince coach Saban when his mind is made up (to stay at Alabama),” Richardson said. “But I hope we make a run at him.”
Can he be persuaded?“I doubt it,” Richardson said. “I highly doubt it.”

He had to hold all that in until the coach got fired, of course he would want his old coach there. Means better job security

I guess most people didn't read the article. Just the headline.

Saban is not about to leave for the NFL while his program is on top.
Florida's offense will become explosive within the next couple of years, and it will get a lot tougher in the SEC for Bama.
If LSU ever gets a passing attack, Saban will find winning the West a lot harder, But that seems like a big IF.
TAM will start winning the SEC West within the next four or five years. I expect them to come back to earth next year, but their recruiting program will eventually surpass TEXAS in the near future.
When winning starts getting harder for Bama, Saban might take a final run in the NFL before he retires for good.

No, if I could save either Richardson or Saban from a burning building I'd safe T-Rich. Can't wait until next season. He'll be healthy and may have some actual help around him.
