Current bands that you think should get more recognition than they do

For me it's
Alvin Band - His album "Mantis Preying" is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Alvin Band - Stanley Kubrick
Evngelicals
They're one of the best bands I've heard in the past four or five years.
Evangelicals - Skeleton Man

Turnpike Troubadours come to mind immediately

This will be their year. They're doing extremely well as of late.

They are great. Lotta fun to listen to. Never understood why they weren't bigger, but the vocals may not appeal to some

Coheed and Cambria. Far and away my favorite band, and they're really only known for Welcome Home. I don't even think Welcome Home would crack the top 15 of most fans' favorite CoCa songs.
The video posted is of "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth" live from their Neverender show. By far my favorite live song they play. Crowd always gets really into it during the chorus and with the chanting at the end.

I've seen Coheed about four times. Absolutely love them, and their following, however big it may be, is passionate.
Personally, I'm not a big of a fan of their newer stuff as I am with the first 2-4 albums. Second Stage and Keeping Secrets are probably my two favorites, quickly followed by Good Apollo. I really wish I would have made it to one of the Neverender shows. I did see them play only Second Stage in Austin a year or two ago. Awesome

Year of the Black Rainbow wasn't anything great, but Afterman: Ascension released a couple months ago is in line with their early stuff. The album is a little short but it's two parts with Descension coming out in February.

Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. The song "Live Forever" from their "Chasing Someday" album was used for the 2012 NBA promo. Outstanding album.

I haven't heard of one band in this thread.

Because people on here tend to try to name the most obscure band name they can to prove their 'street cred'.

CYHASY! were big enough to have a backlash already. One of the quicker backlashes -praised first album, savaged second album. It's a shame. The band's a ton of fun.
Even in Americana circles, Backyard Tire Fire doesn't get enough credit. Really love them.

Turnpike Troubadours are far from obscure, and they've been mentioned on this board about 98793485749875 times. However, if you don't listen to country (Texas/red dirt in particular) then it's understandable that you've never heard of them.
You SHOULD, though. They're pretty great. :)

Or maybe it's because the subject of the thread is under-recognized bands.
