Question for you wine and champagne guys: how long does a bottle of champagne stay good?

It has been stored upright in a closet since I got it in the early 2000s (2002 I think) and is a 1999 vintage.

Are there identifying characteristics I should look for without opening it? (A la cloudy whiskey)

12...it's not even for me (though I will get to try it Super Bowl Sunday). My business partner just cut me in on a great deal. Just gave him an ORVW10 to thank him for another deal too. I could never spend that much for one bottle for myself. Lol. I hear it's damn good.

It is good...I really enjoy it. But the price....is too damn high I think I got mine for around 6-700. I'll probably never buy more. I have one that I opened for my 40th to last until whenever. Then I have a humidor set that I'll open at my daughters weeding...and she be 9 so let's hope that's many years away.

I told you that handy sazerac is damn good

I bought the Hirsch Gold Foil that Churchills had about 3 years ago. Paid $650 and that is the most I have ever paid for a single bottle. That bottle is long gone and I would never buy another one at today's prices.
