I'll let you know when they come in and how many I can get my hands on. I'll probably buy a few for the cabinet also. Supposed to be in within the next month.
They're also getting a barrel of Buffalo Trace unfiltered that I'm looking forward to trying.

I'll buy all of the ECBP that I can find at $45. Just not sure if the EC21 is worth $140.

I still havent seen a real review on it yet. I'd imagine we will see some soon.
edit...nevermind
quote:
Elijah Craig 21-Year-Old Review
Bourbon: Elijah Craig 21-Year-Old Single Barrel, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Bardstown, Kentucky
Color: Medium to deep amber
Age: 21-years-old, bottled on 11-26-90
Proof: 45% ABV , 90 Proof
Nose:: The aroma that you’re greeted with when you step into a rickhouse. A “dustiness,” which is often a hallmark of a finely aged Bourbon. Nice prevalence of alcohol.
Taste: This Bourbon enters with buttery cooperage as though the Bourbon-infused particles of that pleasant dust and rickhouse atmosphere have been lacquered with a buttery concoction to create an elixir. Dry, spicy, a sweet touch with corn, hint of cinnamon candied walnuts.
Mid-palette to the end warms up.
Finish: Tangy and dry, fairly brief.

If the ec21 comes in today I will try some tonight possibly.
If you can get your hands on some EC18 and ECBP I would buy some and pay for shipping. Let us know...I bet we would collectively buy all what they get in...let them know that...give you first dibs.
Thanks for the AE info!! Can you post that pic? I dont tweet lol

Have you heard how much was bottled?

Mine came out of barrel 45 and was barreled pm 11/26/90. I want to say I read somewhere that with the evaporation over that length of time the barrels had less than 10 gallons in each.

This thread is awesome!!!
I graduated last December, and since I can now afford to I have been trying to learn my way around the world of nice bourbons. So far I have tried Blanton's, Booker's, and thanks to reading this thread I recently purchased a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel.
I think Blanton's is my go to, but I really like the Four Roses. Booker's is a little strong for my taste just yet, so I cut that one with a splash of water. The others I drink neat. Any advice or recomendations for somebody trying to branch out?
ETA: Have also tried the Hudson Bay Baby Bourbon. Really like it, but chose Four Roses over it. I couldn't bring myself to pay more for the smaller bottle of Hudson Bay than for the Four Roses

If you like Blanton's try Rock Hill Farms and Elmer T Lee... Elmer is the same mash bill but younger, Rock Hill is the same mash bill but older.
Four Roses is one of my go-to's as well.. They use more Rye in their mash than most. Wild Turkey is also a higher Rye pour. The Rare Breed is worth a try and check out Russell's Reserve as well.
Past that just read through this thread and get ideas.
