Taking money and fanfare into account?
If I remember correctly Snyder paid him a small fortune.
(Since we're on the coaches roll today)

Snyder would overpay at a dollar store.

Norv is pretty bad.
Unreal that he was hired a third time. How the hell has he lasted 5 years in SD?

No doubt but he didn't really have the fanfare.
I remember spurrier giving speeches before the season about how he didn't have to put in the hours like other coaches. He even ran the score up in a couple of preseason games like he was playing Floridas schedule.
Other teams coaches and players laughed at his childish offense.
Didn't he bring in Wuerfull to run his fun and gun ?

Jim Zorn, Rod Marinelli, Bobby Petrino, and the man who chose to kick off in Overtime, Marty Morninwheg

Are you serious? Norv's record at SD is 53-39 with 3 division titles. It may be time for him to go, but the worst NFL coach ever? Come on.

Mangini is way underrated in my book. I would love to have him back in Cleveland. Not a bad coach by any means. He'll be coaching somewhere next year I think.

I like Mangini. I like him as an analyst. I think he has a good thing going there.

Belichick and Mike Smith both went for it on 4th down deep in their own territory, and those were far worse decisions

Mangini is a very good analyst, much better than, say, Herm Edwards

Job security. And depending on how many yards they had to get those decisions may have been the better, statically.

Poor Patrick Ramsey. He almost got killed with that offense.
