What's the most you have spent on a bottle of wine?

Please specify if it was at a restaurant or a store.

(From the food board regarding an $85 6-pack of beer)

$75 on Cakebread Cabernet.

Probably spent more buying a bottle at a restaurant, but can't recall.

I didn't buy it but I've had a glass from a bottle that was $395.

I worked in a restaurant and our boss opened it for NYE.

What's the point of that? Was it 10x better than a $100 bottle of wine that you enjoyed for a whole 60 minutes?

About $100 at a steakhouse in NYC last week. It tasted the same as the cheap shite I typically buy IMHO

I split a bottle of 1982 Mouton Rothschild back in 2006. I'm not sure what those even retail for anymore...it was made before I was even born.

When the Mouton-Rothschild 1982 debuted on the market as a future, it was selling for $390 per case. By the first quarter of 1996, it cost the same amount per bottle at auction. Today, with an average price of $1,307 per bottle, Mouton 1982 is selling for more than 40 times its futures price—a fabulous return on an investment.
