What are the chances D'Antoni gets fired and they bring Phil in?

i'm sure it's happened before.. but have 2 head coaches ever been fired during a season?

they have Dwight, Gasol, Kobe, Nash, World Peace and are only 4 games better than the Hornets
(granted Nash hasn't played but 1.5 games or so...)

Phil has such a huge ego, after they picked D'Antoni over him I'm thinking he would turn them down out of spite, just to say I told you so

I think he would make them pay him a bunch of money, and then come in and save the day.
It would seal his legacy as the best there ever was.

Their problems are really simple.
They did a horrible job of filling out the roster. The big 4, which hasn't even played together, is very formidable.
Outside that, a general lack of athleticism and shooters. The most athletic perimeter player is Kobe, that's pretty bad.
I honestly think they can fix this thing if their core 4 gets healthy and gelling, they can make a postseason run because the bench becomes less important.
But theyre built horribly for the regular season especially with injuries.

but to answer, no chance. D"Antoni is not the problem.
The roster as is is Kobe/Dwight and a bunch of lousy talent.

It would be hilarious, but I doubt it happens.

I hate the "big" term everyone uses now for every team to describe who the good players are.

Very, very good.
Also, have not slept in almost 80 hours now... shite's getting weird.

Word is that the Lakers talked to Phil before their last hire. His demands were too much.I think he wanted a piece of the Franchise.

At first I thought the "not traveling with the team for road games" thing was excessive and ridiculous. On further consideration, what's the big deal. Especially when you have a team with that kind of age and leadership on it
You give Phil what he asks for. That's just how it is

Why would you even want Phil Jackson?? The guy has checked out. He doesn't want to go on road trips or to shootarounds on game day. He basically wants to do a half-@#% coaching job.
When you say you're not willing to do the things that will make your team as good as it can possibly be, it means you've checked out already. And that's perfectly ok, he's earned his time to take it easy. But you don't want him taking it easy while he's "coaching" your team. He's not the Phil Jackson of 20 years ago.
And to the poster above me, yeah they need him on road trips. This Lakers team has already proven that they don't have the heart to play hard unless they have a fire lit under them. They can't be trusted to motivate themselves.

I get so tired of seeing ill-informed people posting shite like this. Phil isn't physically able to travel without dealing with a large amount of pain. The guy wants to coach, but his knees are completely shot
