Not a plot hole, but something that always jumps out at me - In Star Trek Generations, when the bad guys fires a rocket at the sun, everyone stands there and watches it hit the star as if its hanging a couple hundred feet off the ground.
There is the plot hole on why does Picard not just go back and have Soren (the bad guy) arrested when they first rescued the ship he was on.
As an aside, not a plot hole, but they did bury arguably the Federation's most famous captain under a pile of rocks on a remote planet instead of giving him a proper officer's funeral.

Independence Day virus being compatible with aliens
That is a huge one. I recently watched Looper which had a huge plot hole too so that is stuck in my head.

I look past alien and time travel movies because there is not a single one that doesn't plot holes. It's inherent to the genre

I think the reasoning in Independance day, which they never explain, is that his computer is tied into the ship that he and Will Smith are occupying. Once they are docked he can then upload the virus. So basically Goldblum cracked space code which makes him the smartest man ever to live.

If a race is capable of reaching out planet, their technology must be obscenely far ahead of ours. They would absolutely pulverize us if there were any conflict. If they're capable of intergalactic travel, just imagine their weapons. We cant even put a man on mars
Maybe there is no conflict on their planet, thus giving the race the unity to pursue space travel where as the human race has dedicated itself to the death and extinction of others, so our weapons are superior, but their travel technology is superior.

One thing I didn't get about The Crazies.
When they go back to their house to get his police car, they find the wife and son of the dude he killed at the beginning all transformed to Crazies. The wife stabs his hand to the floor. He picks it up, and jams the blade (with his hand attached) into her neck. I would think that at this point her Crazy blood would have gotten into his blood stream to infect him, but he never turned into a Crazy in the remainder of the movie.

rguable. He deciphered the alien language and the code and how to use their technology. He could have coded it to them somehow, right?
No. That's like saying some random Taliban terrorist with a little computer knowledge and English could take down the US military with a cyber attack.

Batman jumps out the window to save maggie gillenahall(thats who she played. she was not Rachael Dawes) and leaves the joker in a room full of innocent victims. Nothing ever happens to those people and apparently the joker just leaves peacefully and batman never goes after him.
I love this movie, but this part has always bothered me.

I agree to an extent, but some are just worse than others.

Oh absolutely. There can be some really bad ones, i.e. Independence Day

The Star Trek that came out 4 years ago with the whole Spock time travel scene with future Spock & Kirk. Basically any movie dealing with time travel and then going back to the present day
. I didn't understand if time travel Spock knew if present Spock knew he met Kirk in the future...and then wouldn't Kirk going forward in time & meeting old Spock change the present??

If the taliban guy cracked the defense code to use the system that powers a US aircraft that wirelesly connects to an aircraft carrier, and was a computer genius hacker already that retro designed a virus to the aircraft itslef successfully already. Maybe.

He lands in front of the building in front of the front door. How would the joker have gotten out the building without him hearing commotion on the first floor?

I've always thought about the Santa one with Christmas movies. It's actually one of the reasons I thought Santa had to be real when I was little ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
