And then you have to go all the way back to 3 years before that game to find another....

And both were highly prominent, national level games.

One was the "kickoff" bowl.

The other was a gameday hosted event.

But yeah, we never play the ACC out of bowls...

to be fair, VA Tech was probably still in The Metro when that game was scheduled.

Beamer got out of playing LSU to participate in the NAACP Black Coaches challenge or something. Which I still think is kinda odd.

+1. Look you guys have a decent sports program and cute colors. Nothing more. You are not competing with Georgia for recruits. Any recruit that picks Clemson over UGA or a school of that caliber deserves to not be taken seriously.

Actually there was a time when tulane was better than lsu for a while and were ranked. But lsu has always pretty much been the big brother, such as u.s.c. to clemson.

Welll i dont know the history of other programs, but tulane used to be a legit football schoolShit theyve had an undefeated season more recently than lsu has.

Louisiana is a Small poor state as well. Look at georgia. Over twice the population and they have only 2 d1 programs. Louisiana has 5. Some years, ulm, ul and la tech are better than the miss schools in football.

Again georgia with over 9 million residents has only to d1 schools. And one of them has higher academic restrictions.

You guys can talk this per capita bs. The truth is LA talent a lone wouldnt allow us to compete vs bama. Its just how football wirks in la. Guys that should be playing wr or db play qb. Guys that should play lb, play rb. Quick name our last 3 nfl line backers, minter, sheppard, riley. All ga guys. None of our bcs winning qbs have been from la. Just cant do it.

Before Nick Saban came to LSU in 2001, we couldn't keep our best players in-state.

Actually, DiNardo was the one who reversed the trend in keeping recruits in state. Saban built on that trend and improved it, but DiNardo is responsible for the reversal. But DiNardo made the mistake of hiring Lou Tepper, opening the door for Saban.

Why do you keep saying this incredibly false statement? Does it help you forget about your mediocre football program?
