Pre Andy re-signing I thought we MAY make a move but doubtful. Now I highly doubt it. They do need to start seriously prepping for 2014 though.

I have him getting a contract for around 5-6 years at $150million, unless something fricky happens.
25-30 a year for greinke? No way.

Phelps move in rotation with CC, Nova, Hughes and one of the prospects....
I like Phelps in that 4/5 guy role with Nova being other guy and Hughes is a solid #3, better than avg if he pitches like he did for middle 3 months and Pineda can be a great #2 if weight comes down and he comes back healthy

Seems ridiculous I agree, but the Cole Hamels and Matt Cain deals have all but guaranteed Greinke getting a similar contract.

I am worried that if the Rangers sign Hamilton to a $100 million plus deal, he is going to suck from Day 1 just like he did to end last season.
But if he signs somewhere else, he is going to regain his April/May 2012 form on Day 1.
I do think Mike Napoli will continue to be a strikeout machine like he was all September with Boston though. Red Sox are wasting their money on role players.

Well he needs to get the money first or did I miss some lucrative signing?

You dont get paid your contract in baseball? Or did he have a stipulation if he got hurt he doesnt get paid?

512k is going to buy a lot of burgers (what he made last year) but he hasn't been "paid" like other young pitchers have been when a club buys out their arbitration.

Per Olney
@Buster_ESPN: The Arizona Diamondbacks have constructed a four-team deal that's currently dormant. Would net them Asdrubal Cabrera, if it's revitalized.

According to Knobler, the Marlins’ talks with the A’s regarding Escobar have centered on prospects Grant Green and Brad Peacock. Green, a former first-round pick, has experience at shortstop, second base and in center field. He hit .296/.338/.458 as a 24-year-old in Triple-A last season. Peacock, who was sent to Oakland from the Nationals in the Gio Gonzalez deal, was 12-9 with a 6.01 ERA and a 139/66 K/BB ratio in 134 2/3 innings in Triple-A last season.

Really like this signing. Comes back to his regular form next season, the Rangers will have a very good 8th and 9th inning duo.
Hopefully they resign Uehara, than they might have one of the more dominant backend bullpens in the majors.

From FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal comes word that the Giants have re-signed infielder Marco Scutaro to a three-year contract worth a total of $20 million.

As the Denver Post’s Troy Renck first reported, the Rockies have acquired reliever Wilton Lopez from the Astros for right-handers Alex White and Alex Gillingham.

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that a potential blockbuster is brewing. Specifically, a mutli-team, multi-player trade that could involve Arizona, Cleveland, Texas and Tampa Bay with Justin Upton, James Shields and Asdrubal Cabrera being the biggest names involved.
Rosenthal – while cautioning that a deal is not imminent or even particularly likely at the moment — reports that one iteration of the trade would have Justin Upton heading to Texas, Asdrubal Cabrera to Arizona and the Indians getting “a package of young talent,” which could include the Rangers’ Mike Olt.

From CBS Sports’ Danny Knobler comes word that the Rays and Marlins are close to a trade that will send shortstop Yunel Escobar to Tampa Bay in exchange for infield prospect Derek Dietrich.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Reds are “getting close on a deal” for the veteran outfielder. It’s likely for two years and a little under $20 million.

Reports are that the Orioles have offered Chris Tillman for Eric Hosmer. Let's see how dumb the Royals are.
