I just don't understand why we're supposed to be satisfied with mediocrity because we were awful 20 years ago. Why can't we just want to improve each year? I'm tired of people labeling fans negatigers because they question the way our coaches perform. That's what leads to tyranny. Chruis needs to keep his mouth shut.

I think you made the case against your position with the use of that one word. You define LSU's performance over the last 5 years as "mediocrity"? If so, then there is no point in discussing if it's ok to criticise mediocrity. The argument is over whether LSU under Miles is mediocre. And while that is somewhat subjective, you definitely have the short end of the stick.

When you call a message board "Tiger RANT" what else would anybody expect but that some will rant? I mean, really. While I certainly agree that if Miles leaves, LSU does not revert to the Curley Hallman days, I would expect a reasonable person to also conced that Miles' baseline -- finishing in the top ten almost every year is also above the program baseline. If we put in generic Coach X, LSU probably reverts closer to its historic norm of a lower top 25 program with the occassional title here and there. Look at where Arkansas is as a program (not this year, the last 10) for an example. But we wouldn't become Ole Miss. Hell, this is only Saban's second SEC title at Alabama. It's hard to win titles.

He's the head coach of Alabama. Screw him. Screw Muschamp and Richt and Sumlin, too. They are our rivals, and LSU fans should be making fun of these coaches with whatever sobriquets at their disposal, old or new.

Miles and Saban have split their last four meetings, but I would argue Miles "outcoached" Saban in three of those games. Certainly, Saban won the BCSCG by a wide margin, but this year's game I felt Saban was actually out-gameplanned and out-adjusted. Miles and LSU dictated the pace of that game and also found unique ways to attack Bamas defense they seemed unprepared for. In the end, the ball bounces the wrong way a few times and we play crappy defense on the final drive, giving Bama the win. But I don't think Miles was outcoached in that game by any means. In fact, I think he had Saban on his heels all night. But sometimes you can have a great plan and still lose. That's the way the ball bounces.

I think most of the self-professed (or easily pinpointed) "nega-tigers" on here are pretty damn ridiculous in many, if not most, of their stances.

I think acting like they have any sort of effect on anything beyond what they post on internet message boards or say on radio talk shows (as Warner clearly attempts to assert in this piece) is pretty much equally ridiculous.
