Long has basically had his man for a while now. However, until the coach has signed the contract and announced at an Arkansas press conference the prudent thing for Long to do is to keep the door open for plans B, C, D etc.

Auburn's and Tennessee's opening will have ZERO effect on Long's #1 target; Chris Petersen, because Petersen has no interest in those jobs. Petersen will be announced next week as the next head Hog.

No chance he is leaving the west coast especially with a better than average chance Kelly at Oregon jumps to the pros. You'll get in a bidding war with the barn over Patterson. If you're lucky you get him if not you end up with broyels, dykes, or strong.

how could we get rejected by Gruden when we never offered him anything anyway. The only confirmed offer came from Tennessee and he did say no but pretty sure we never offered him. As far as Petersen and Patterson surely one of them will be our next head coach but if Monday comes and goes and we still have no coach then we are in for a real screw job.

It will be Wednesday.

Petersen is target #1, but yesterday it looks like we end up with Patterson.

If I hear anything new I'll let you know.

Yeah I saw the exit interview they did with Petersen after the Nevada game.

So tell us, losing that rivarly with Nevada has to be tough but you go to the big East next season and have to do some serious traveling.

He was like, " Yeah that is always important to Boise and too bad, I am not going to be here for that ridiculous crap."

I hate the east coast....

He acted no different than usual.

The question asked was dumb, he was not going to say anything other than giving Ault credit. They want to keep the rivalry. Some people just searching for clues that aren't there.

He's always answered those questions head on, walking away isn't normal for him.

if you saw his post game presser he did not look like the most committed football coach. It was like yes this is important for Boise tradition and yada yada yada. He was toting the company line. I have no idea if he will come or will in the end Altman us but as of right now he is the target. He could spur us but I hope not. It will have to be seen.

The Jeanine Edwards question was the one I'm referring to. He answered it and it was a poor question. The first one she asked about young kids was a good one and he answered like usual. He gave Ault credit, what did you expect him to say?

I think people are really reaching judging a post game q and a though. I think the Statesman will be the best judge in OP/ED they write tonight.

The one I saw was a tweet from a iphone from a BCS reporter and it was a dude. Cut and pasted into hogville but I THINK it is accurate. SO did he dodge two questions? related to staying?
