What is the most sacred, prestigious record in sports?

Some clown on the radio today said it was a take your pick between the All Time NFL Passing Yard Record or All Time NFL Passing TD Record because of how hard it is to be an NFL QB and the punishment you have to take to achieve it.
I call bullshite on that, I bet if you walked up to 10 random people on the street, maybe 1 person could tell you who holds either of those records. I even had to look them up.
I would say its the all time Home Run Record, because everyone knows who holds that record, even if its a matter of debate whether or not Bonds deserves to hold it.

I would say most free throws consecutively without a miss.

Consecutive starts in the NFL

I think Ripken's record is sacred. But just my opinion

Does this mean the one most everybody knows? or is the most unbreakable record??

56 games with a hit
Unbreakable.
Unbreakable.

What's the #?
Without looking it up most sports fans don't what Bonds is record is? They knew 755 for Aaron & 714 for Ruth, but they don't know the current record.

No way. It used to be the all time HR record, but that one's ruined. I'm going with Ripken's consecutive games played.

Not sure about sacred or prestigious...but Ripken's has to be the most impressive. That or consecutive hit streak.

That's a fact.

Ripken and its not close.
No one will ever get close to it.
I can imagine a hitter getting close to DiMaggio.

This
Brett Favre started his first game in 1992 and never missed a start until 2011. That is fcking INSANE. And Favre was never afraid to take a big hit or throw a big hit.
This was also during a time when defensive players were allowed to destroy QB's.

In the context, I would say its not the most unbreakable or most impressive, but if you could hold any sports record what would it be?

Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak.
