My son has started as a freshman for the first two games of the season. His third game is going on right now. I am stuck at work because of a conference call at 4:00 today.

I called my ex to see how the match was going. She said that he wasn't playing and had switched numbers with the best player on his team. I was at the last game and the best player wore number 10 and got a straight red card and was to be suspended for the match today. So the refs think it is my son who is suspended for the match.

My ex going to go ballistic afterwards I can promise y'all that. I'm so pissed that the coach would take the risk of playing an ineligible player. Just a classless move by the coach.

I'd tear into that coach. That sucks for your son. Its not fair, and it certainly isn't how you teach sportsmanship to your players.

Seriously though, I would go to the coach, then AD, then Principal. It really depends on relationship with each one. He's in a tough situation, but seriously, that's some legitimate bullshite on the coach's part. I've coached in LHSAA for about 7 years now. I know a few coaches who have gotten suspended for crap like that. This is how kids learn to be douche bags.

Oh, and Atom-Z, I was joking about St. Paul's

I just threw their name out there cuz I know their good at soccer, figured I could troll

what kinda bullshite is that? our best player was sitting out a red in a playoff game and we lost because of it. no one ever even considered pulling a shite stunt like this. obviously, ive heard it talked about before but frick that.

That coach is an uber douche. Mind if I ask what school your son attends?

Late on this, but would definitly talk to your son and see how he feels about it...how he reacts should be the bearing on how you confront the coach...if he is indifferent than I would talk to the coach and kindly explain that he is an arse...if he is upset about it, go all the way with it

ETA: I had a friend in college who had a douche coach in high school and he and his parents decided that he would only play club soccer and not for his school, maybe an option if the douchebaggery continues

That's fricked up. I would talk to the coach first and then take it to high levels of authority if needed. Good luck

Agreed. But think of the trouble that Glass, Jr., the other player, and the school can get into for that. Shame on the coach for 1. suggesting it, or 2. allowing it.
