And who built this program?
Miles chose to go to a better option....and it's worked out pretty well for him.
Congrats on the (1) Big 12 Title Okie St.

Saban won SEC and BCSNC before Miles. So does that mean Miles has done nothing to improve the LSU program?

Take it from someone who's lived around these Okies for 15+ years -
1) They had mixed feelings about Miles just like LSU fans with respect to his personality
2) They respected the fact that Miles quickly turned OSU into a program that competed strongly in the Big 12, but mainly held back no punches from the then-godlike figure known as Bob Stoops
3) He made his players, coaches, and fanbase believe in the direction he was taking the program; thus, (and timing is everything), Boone Pickens believed, and was financially back in a place where he was willing to ante up to improve the program, including the stadium and overall athletic facilities. Like many of us who have been in the O&G industry for years, Les didn't like all the smoke Pickens blew in people's faces, including the money-flashing. Les knew he'd be under the thumb of a golf coach, Mike Holder, who was Pickens' right-hand man, and Les wanted no part of it - Les is his own man. And, a lot of Okies (if they're honest with themselves) knew that too! In the past 2-3 years, as the OSU program has morphed into a much better program, EVERYONE, including Gundy and many angry detractors of Miles' leaving for LSU, acknowledge that Miles was the main reason for the turnaround of the OSU program. They were mainly upset because they got mixed message from Les during the LSU hiring process that he had no intention of leaving.....somewhat like the Saban situation, but not as aggregious. When Miles made it official, many OSU fans took the typical attitude of ....."well, he was a goof-ball anyway with his wild-arse press conference statements, so glad he's gone"! But, deep-down everyone knew Miles was smart to leave OSU for LSU....a much better job!

In all seriousness, I do appreciate his input and opinions. It should be stated that I despise the Les haters that bitch about the most irrational things.

Are you really this stupid?
Please enlighten us to how easy it is to sustain a winning tradition and I'll shoot down anything you say.
Keep avoiding Trout and sounding stupid

True.
However in the 3 years prior to Miles OSU was 5–6, 5–6, and 3–8.
In Miles 4 years he went 4-7, 8–5, 9–4, and 7–5.
In the 3 years after Miles, Gundy went 4-7, 7-6, 6-6.
From 2008 on, Gundy achieved a lot more success, but let's don't act like Miles didn't turn that program around in 4 years.

He came here because it was a better opportunity and now he's at one of the Top Football Programs in the country.
He's won a NC and played in another
What exactly has Gundy done?
remember who we were supposed to be playing in the title game last year right? u know that okie st is in the same conf as UT, OU, TT & then Nebraska right??! gundy and chavis would create the most dominant team in a long time.

Nice input. I do remember hearing that Pickens was not a fan of Les. Are you saying that their fan base feels that Miles> Gundy? Orr basically that Les deserves credit for building the foundation?

Wow, its funny how some people think Gundy is wonderful because he ALMOST made it to the National Championship but didn't because he lost a game to unranked Iowa frickin State, but hes still awesome. Yet, our coach who has ACTUALLY played in 2 national Championships and won one of them sucks arse and should be replaced.

Just know a good thing when I see it....been a fan since 77 and I know what bad coaches look like.
A SMALL segment of this fanbase just likes to bitch and moan. Miles is at LSU as long as he wants to be and that pisses these people off.
I'm glad he's here and I like winning

Pickens pisses Gundy off too. That won't ever stop no matter the coach.

If you think we underachieved this year with the attrition and injuries we have had you're just dumb. Our lineup looks NOTHING like it did in June.

Building a winner from a loser(Sabans job)
1. Harder to bring recruits in
2. Instilling a winning attitude
3. Built up the program with buildings etc.
Sustaining a program (miles)
1. Easier to recruit kids to a winner
2. Expectations of winning already established with older players.
3. All the kids being recruited now ONLY have seen LSU as a powerhouse.
4. LSU pays great money...easier to get great assistants.
Tell me how sustaining is more difficult than building please.

Please tell me what your opinion of achieving at LSU would be then....
An NC every year?
Undefeated Seasons every year?
Never losing to Saban?
I mean, do you set these same standards for yourself? If so, I'm sure you're a fricking millionaire that loves posting on TD.
