Up until last year I was a member of Florida Citrus Sports and was a Scout for the Cap One Bowl. Y'know how when you read the paper and they say "members of the Capital One Bowl were in attendance"? Well, that was me. So my opinion below may have some validation to it.

The Capital One bowl gets first pick after the BCS bowls. So let me ask you this....you have an opportunity to bring arguably the most electric player in collge footbal to your bowl...a freshman who may likely be invited to NY for Heisman consideration...and a team who you normally do not get a crack at...a team celebrating success in it's first year in the SEC...a team with a tabid fan base that travels well. Trust me....Cop One takes A&M, which likely send us to Cotton.

Money drives bowls and outside of Bama and ND, A & M is the flavor of the month. Bringing A&M insures ratings and attendance. It is just a good decision.

I would be greatly surprised if the committe passes this up.

You don't pass it up for the Texas matchup alone. Texas refuses to schedule them, this forces them to play.

So if Bama loses to UGA, where do they go? If Cap One goes with A&M in that scenario, doesn't Bama end up in the Cotton?

Isn't the Cap One Bowl contractually obligated now to take the loser of the SEC CCG? In that case, Cap One is taking Georgia or Bama, not A&M or LSU.
