Overall a 10-2 record is something we should be happy with, but what bothered me about this year is there were 2 games you HAD to win and we didn't. Outside of that we went to the final whistle with Auburn, Ole Miss and Arkansas, and really played lackluster against teams we were much better than.

My point is that right now we have a divided fan base. Half are not happy with the season and half say we're spoiled and should be happy with 10-2. I say yes, 10-2 is great but you have to understand that it was not a great 10-2 and while I'm not pissed and want people fired, We're at a level where 10-2 is almost expected, winning the big games is what's important and this year we didn't do that.

Most fans don't have a problem with the record. It's the sloppy play and not putting teams away. There will always be a game or two we lose cause we don't put teams away. There is not one Dan who can say they are not aggravated most of the games they watch LSU play

You are wrong to not credit or be excited about the South Carolina or Texas A&M wins. The teams in the SECCG lost to them.

USC wasn't a big game? Texas A&M wasn't a big game?

Quality wins against A&M and USCe, each of which beat the division winners.

Im one of those that's in between. I'm very happy with 10 wins, even considering all of the injurys and off field issues we still pulled that out. Pretty impressive if you ask me, But I'm still downed by that last defensive stand vs Bama. We are 1 play from being where Bama is right now headed into the SEC championship with a win to go to the NCG...

10-2 was the standard at ut also for many years. How's that working for them now. I am happy with the year the year because we had major issues and worked through them to a decent finish. The teams leader was kicked off, the o line was in major shuffle, one starter quit the team, less then stellar wr play, and a first year starter at qb in the sec. All said I think 10-2 is acceptable with realistic expectations of nat champ next year.

Yes aTm was a quality win and it's why we're at #7 and not #10 or worse. My bad.

Alabama must be having a bad season as well, they only beat 2 ranked teams also, LSU and...Michigan.

WTF?! There were four games we had to win and we won 2 of them. Bama and UGA only had two "must win" games and they both split theirs. That's life at the top of the best conference in football. Quit whining.

Where I disagree with this is that we competed in both of those games. My biggest concern coming into this sesaon was the possibilty of a hangover from the arse whiiping that Bama put on us the BCS game. We had 4 big games this year. We went 2-2 in those games. Would have been very easy with injuries and everything to throw in the towel, but it didnt happen. We came back to beat USCe and Texas A&m after the Florida game.
We were in the Florida game and Bama game and had a very good chance to win both.
Had we got blown out in those games I might agree with you. I am happy with 10-2 when you consider all the factors of this season. We are one defensive stop away from playing for it all this weekend. What else do you want?

I think most of the problem lies with the fact LSU is either flat out unprepared or unable to put teams away. While 10-2 is a good year, we still played poorly. Arkansas is awful this year, and so is Auburn and we beat both by a combined 9 points.

LSU showed up for 3 1/2 quarters against Alabama, not counting the last two minutes of each half, We saw what this team is capable of when they play at their best.

I think what frustrates the LSU fanbase is we don't play at our best every week, this goes for both coaches and players. If LSU had played the entire season like those 3 1/2 quarters against Alabama, LSU would be 12-0.

We were 2-2 against top tier opponents and obviously could have been 4-0. Although, IMO A&M win was regarded much like the Ole Miss win at the time (thank God it's over), it was a great win. South Carolina game was playing for our seaosn aginst the then No. 3 team with Lattimore.

We were a 90 second drive away from the SEC and maybe national championship game and exercsising a lot of demons. Now we're playing in a the 5th place bowl and have another year to stew on what could have been.

.....it is like bitching about the "quality" of the BJ. We rebuilt the O-line and had a first year starter. They finally started to gel in the Bama game. Had down week with Ole Miss--but SR festivities seem to be a disruption (wasn't the 2007 loss SR day) and we beat ARKY, which despite their record still had the same talent that had them a preseason contender. Every week is different--play for victory.

We have played 4 teams currently ranked in the BCS top 10.

Lets just dismiss the significance of the 2 games we won against Top 10 teams and emphasize the 2 that we lost

why do people bitch about these games?

Auburn we have won at how many times now since 2000? I think twice, 2008 and 2012. We lost in Saban's first year in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2010. If Mett doesn't fumble, that game isn't as close as it is.

Ole Miss. Again, we have not beaten them at home by more than 7 since 95. We have had better teams and they have had worse.

Arkansas. We were 2-3 against them the last 5 years. This is always a tough game. I would like to see the game moved to Saturday. Not sure that will make much of a difference. Just my $.02.

LSU played 4 top 15 teams. We were 2-2. We beat USCe and at A&M.

Alabama played 2 top 10 teams LSU and A&M, they are 1-1

UGA played 2 top 10 teams Florida and USCe, they are 1-1

USCe played 4 top 15 teams: They were 2-2, they beat UGA and Clemson, lost to UF and LSU (both on the road in back to back weeks BTW)

A&M played 3 top 10 teams they beat Alabama and lost to Florida and LSU.

Florida played 5 top 15 teams, they are 4-1.

You might notice the 2 teams that played the fewest ranked teams are the 2 playing for the SEC title and a trip to the BCS CG.

This was a 10-2/9-3 team from the get go. The administration and staff never expected more than that after the loss of several key starters.

It can be argued that they overachieved, considering the off-field and injury issues.

But, all that being said, LSU was 1 first down from the SECCG.

I see one big problem between the fans. Some throw the word "great" around waaaaay too much. Undefeated national champion is great, ok? 10-2 is "good" and considering the talent we are supposed to have I would say it could be considered ok. I don't want to hear about losing players and shite bc everybody goes through that. Good teams deal and keep going.
