What all you guys don't get is OCS doesn't win with talent. They win with coaching and disciplined play. They aren't your typical Louisiana Private School.
I'd disagree with this. They are like most private school powers. Really, Curtis was usually like that. It wasn't until relatively recently that they started filling up with prospects.
But let's put Curtis, Evangel, Calvary and UHigh in the "recruiting" category. Schools like Parkview and Notre Dame are just like OCS. I would bet you could say the same thing for some of the Catholic League teams too.
There are less successful privates that follow the model too, like Dunham, maybe Episcopal and tons of small-town privates.

Just because a school isn't winning a lot doesn't mean they aint recruiting.......or holding back....

Sure some people hold their kids back, most schools do this. However it is NOT a requirement and there is no hold back system. You make the decision on your own before 5th grade. We discussed it but felt he was fine to go to kindergarten and then reassessed when he was in 5th grade. Meaning we talked to his teachers, family, and friends. At no point was a coach involved or asked of their opinion. You people are painting with a broad brush and you honestly have no flipping clue what you're talking about when it comes to OCS.
Sure they USED to have an 8s then a 5T program but, they haven't had one in like 15 years.
There's a lot of difference in OCS and the schools just mentioned.

Wow that's great,
I see your 19 miles and raise you a 7.5 miles in 2011
West Monroe
Neville
O.C.S.
& 2012 7.5 miles = a championship, runner up and a semifinalist.

If you want to count semifinalists we can throw in MD35 and Holy Cross this year.
I'm too lazy to go back and look what happened last year. But for you guys to get 3 last year is pretty nice.
Either way NOLA had a good season and South LA had a real good season.
