Dogs don't get infections. They eat dead stuff and poo.

If its an abscess it's already infected. If its cancer poking it wont help. But won't really hurt either.

If it's cancer, she's good as dead right?

If it grew that fast it's an abscess. I think tumors would take longer to go from grape sized to grapefruit sized.
If its a tumor. Would need a vet to cut it off. Or a sharp knife.

That's what I thought. I'm no cancer expert but I've never heard of it doing that.

Not really, depends on lots of factors, mine had a mast cell tumor (cancer) cut out of her 5 years ago and has done just fine until last month when a complete and unrelated soft tissue tumor showed up, got that one cut out and hoping or the best but also realize she is 10 years old.

Unfortunately some cancer tumors can grow that rapidly, I would almost suspect cancer in this case, but maybe it is just because 2/3 bumps on my dog have been cancer

There are tons of different cancers, it's possible

What's the status of the puss ball today?

If it would be that aggressive of a cancer, the dogs as good as dead. Ive never seen cancer grow that fast and I work with it every day.

I lanced the abscess on my horses chest. Didn't smell bad. Looked bad but didn't smell.
Just a giant pimple

I can handle the looks. If it smells like rotten stuff, I'm going to puke on myself and the dog.

What kind of dog?

no way it will get infected
If it's an abcess it's already infected. No doubt the dog needs antibiotics, but a large vet bill is not what he needs.
