Would you mind naming the films for these specific actors? Not sure I've seen them yet.
I don't think he's seen some of them yet either.

He is way too young for "paid his dues" to factor in
I'm not saying he's going to win an Oscar this year. In fact, I'll say he won't. I like JGL a lot. The guy picks good roles and is good in them, even if the movie isn't all that spectacular. His run, of late, has been nothing short of amazing. He has been in some incredibly well done films the past few years. He won't win anything this year, though.
But to say that he is "too young" to have paid his dues is simply incorrect. The guy has been acting literally his whole life. He's been in 61 films or TV shows dating back to 1988. If "paying one's dues" is a factor, and it isn't (see Carey Mulligan, who up until "An Education" had been a total of 11 roles), he would qualify.

There was nothing in that movie that was award-winning material. The movie, directing, writing, acting, etc. was nothing special.

some of you guys would give JGL a BJ if you would see him in person. He's a good actor but c'mon.
Agreed. I'm a big fan of his work, but come on, none of these films this year are even in his top 10 performances. No way he gets nominated, nevertheless win.

I don't get the hipster love for JGL. Doubt he'll ever win an Oscar. He's always gonna be the kid with the goofy pony tail from 3rd Rock to me.
He's barely reached his 30s. If he puts forth a few more good acting jobs like "500 Days of Summer" or "50/50", he'll certainly get an Oscar nomination and likely an Oscar win. He's a truly great actor, but to think he'll be nominated this year, nevertheless win both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor is incredibly laughable at best. And I'm a huge JGL fanboy.

It may not be this film, but he'll get it for at least one of them. He was born to play it.

thank you while even though I love him as an actor, DDL only does a movie every 4-5 years and people automatically give him the Oscar

So JGL is starting to get hated on and Batman is starting to suck.

Considering that the last three film garnered just one nomination for an acting category, I think those chances are pretty minute. Bilbo Baggins is not a difficult role to play.
As far as Joseph Gordon-Levitt is concerned, the dude is a good actor but everything he has done this year has been nothing more than solid. He's done good, but nothing award-worthy.

If it came down to JGL vs. Fassbender for the "Fanboy Oscar" - THAT would be a pretty tight race.

Fassbender's a good actor though.
