Why the heck were they leaving so early? I was very surprised to see that during a close SEC night game.

Many threads on this last night. My response to one of them:
We (wife and 2 kids) left early in fourth. Kids were tired. Most leaving at that time had kids with them.
We hit the homecoming parade this morning then chimes for lunch then tailgating. Kids were done after all that. no way I'm sitting in traffic with cranky kids for 2 hours when I can leave little early and be home in 15 minutes.
Years ago, I never left early, but once you start bringing the family things change. I've been to every game this year, home and away, so I'm a big/ committed fan; but I'm not going to make the kids or wife stay past their breaking point no matter what the score or opponent is. The Tigers are important, but I will be responsible for 4 empty seats late in the game very often because of family.

Oh got damn people, stfu. Miss st wasn't going to win that game. It was never in doubt and the fans stayed as long as they needed to.
When it was on the line against sc and Bama the place was full.
The Internet is such an annoying place for people to bitch.

This. Quit bitching about things that are inconsequential. Tigers won. Crowd in attendance at 4th qtr is irrelevant.

Had to leave early because of a long drive and work early in the morning. I noticed a few people didn't have any jackets to keep warm against that wind. Maybe that was part of it.

I kinda agree. I sold my tix for the season because the wife and I just had another kid but it was a little embarrassing to see the stands like that. They were making an issue out of it in tv. 4th quarter starts and the stadium was at least half empty.

Normally I'm a part of the mind your own business crowd but I actually agree with this today.
Last night was ridiculous. If MSU scores there, LSU is only up by 6. As a matter of fact, while the lines are formed in the aisles, MSU is steadily driving up the field and I was getting deja vu all over again.
But I will say this. Anybody bitching in this thread who wasn't out there and watched on tv, need to STFU. People were practically giving tickets away 3 hours before kickoff.

I think during the Florida game, CBS mentioned that the Florida administration had requested that they not show the coaches box during the telecast.
Maybe LSU can request the same of the LSU fans during fourth quarters. Or instead they can do like Iran does during the World Cup. Instead of showing woman in the crowd scantily crowd during the summer months, they edit in clips of people wearing winter clothes. LSU could have CBS/ESPN insert clips of the crowd from the Bama game.
I do find it ironic that the week after everyone praises TS as being the greatest atmosphere in sports, the stadium was two-thirds full during a yet-decided SEC contest.

Probably scared from the complete traffic gridlock the week before. We sat for an hour just trying to get out of the parking lot.

Because Tiger fans are screaming vaginas?
Piss poor performance by fans.

How can you criticise fans who left the game early and you never left your couch?

The ones around me who left early had young children with them or were afraid to sit in traffic after the game. Still had a bad taste in their mouth from last week's traffic. One guy around us said that he didn't get home till 1:30 am and lives 3 miles from stadium. I stayed.

Been sitting in the SEZ since the 80's... haven't missed many games since then. Last night I wasn't feeling well so I gave my granddaughter my ticket and sat in the parking lot to listen on the radio. I was amazed that I saw people getting in their cars and leaving AT HALFTIME!!

i know everyone loves night games, but i love 230 kickoffs more. at 230, i have the perfect buzz and i can get back to the tailgate to watch the night games.

The only games I ever left early as a kid or adult are ones against teams like ull or Idaho.
I always like to savor beating sec teams.
Although my brother lives close to the chimes so I never have to really drive. I'll just walk over there and wait for traffic to thin out.
Only been to one game with my son. The WKU game last year and we made it through.
