...with respect to seating?

I went to the LSU/Alabama game last year in Tuscaloosa. About 45% of the LSU fans were peppered along the very top of one of the upper endzones. The other 45% were spread out at the very top of the other upper endzone. The remaining ~10% sat with our pep band in a small section in the lower bowl.

In Tiger Stadium, >85% of visiting fans are not only all seated together (giving their team a visible, discrete audience within TS) but they're given premium seats in the lower southeast bowl. On top of that, Alabama was not only allowed to bring their full band, but their color guard as well.

Why not put half the visiting fans at the top of the east upper deck, the other half at the top of the west upper deck, and give those nice lower bowl seats to LSU fans? And maybe restrict teams to only being able to bring their pep band as well...

Expansion should help change that. Long overdue.

Never understood why they do that. It also neutralizes the crowd noise in the south EZ for the visiting team.

We are changing that with the expansion of the South Upper.

They wanted to put them in all four corners of the upper decks right now but that meant they would have to move season ticket holders to the seats in the lowers which are more expensive.

I don't know and don't like it either, but it's always been this way. I agree with you, and the concentration of opposing fans gives them a more audible presense as well.

I think it's supposed to be completed for either 2014 or 2015.

As far as full band goes, you pick one game a year to take the full band to. They chose this game (or at least that's how LSU does it.)

As far as visiting fans in the lower bowl, they should be moved to the upper deck.

We used to get north end at BAMA with a limited number on the east side.

ALL SEC teams are doing the upper deck thing to visiting fans, not just BAMA.

Most schools bring their entire band on one road trip per year. I think LSU brought the whole band with them to Auburn this year. This isn't an issue though because the extra band members just get a piece of whatever allotment is given to visiting schools. So, Bama bringing their whole band only took seats away from Bama fans.

Do they get more tickets for this, or does this come out of their allotment given to them for distribution?

I think we should do like Texas a&m. Put the students and band directly behind the opposing team with the band on the front row. Put the fans nearly out of the stadium on the lower levels and the rest in the upper deck.

The visitor sections at A&M this year were horrendous

The lower bowl sections were behind the sides of the end zone on each sideline and the others were end zone upper deck corners

They did it this year. It was fricking ridiculous. The band is on the 20 behind visiting team. The visitors are in the lower level pretty much outside the stadium

The seats we get there are much worse than they were 10 years ago but they are still better than the "Tech Deck" seats that UGA gives to visiting teams.

UGA fans should be given seats in the PMAC.
