Seriously are people still butthurt that he's the coach at Alabama. I look at this game as the two greatest teams in the country the last few years duking it out like championship heavyweights. It's a great thing. The whole Saban hate video and the loser fans that think this game is all about that need to get an education and learn something about mutual respect. This is Ali vs Frazier....the ol' Steelers vs Dallas....two great symbols of their sport going head to head. I love it! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!
Amen

I disliked Bama before he got there.
I will always appreciate what he did when he was here. That said, with him dropping a bomb on Christmas/Christmas Eve (I can't remember which it was) that he was going to coach in the pros, really got me down but I got over it.
Then, after his struggles coaching in the NFL, he gets an offer to coach for Alabama and he holds these press conferences and he says strongly, "I will not be the head coach at Alabama." And lo and behold, look where he goes. Just like he said here, "I will not coach in the NFL." The guy is a really good coach but he's a liar and he's an even worse person.
His constant lying really pissed me off and then when he went to Bama after he already said he would not, that was it for me. Screw him.
It's only a matter of time before he does it to Bama.

A lot of the Saban hate is rooted in jealousy. The guy is the best coach in college football. Miles isn't to shabby either. I agree this rivalry is good for the SEC.

Would love for this to happen but I don't know if he'll leave there. He's tried NFL and where would he go from Bama? Who could lure him from there? I guess maybe Texas eventually.

Most LSU fans hate Petrino and I doubt they were jealous.

We all know how much of a perfectionist the guy is. I really think that his not being successful in the NFL eats at him.
It's the only thing he hasn't been successful at.
Who knows if he would go back to the pros but I do think it bothers him, just knowing how much of a perfectionist he is.
I do think he could get to Texas if they offered. They could certainly put together enough cash to entice him.
Anyway, back to the topic.....

It was Christmas day I believe. Right around the time we were having Christmas lunch/dinner. I wanted to go landscape his yard
I HATE that he coaches bama!

Your right. Why should anyone hate Nick Saban just because he coaches what is, at present, the team that stands between us and SEC and National Championships. Maybe we should erect him a statue. While we are at, lets put up one for Bear Bryant too. We should love our opponents not despise them. Better yet, why keep score, we can just play for fun and all be gumps and have ice cream together when the game is over.
I bet you kid wears a helmet when he rides his tricycle.

hate is like taking a poison so the enemy might die.
hate eats at the heart of the hater.
my hope is compassion for all.
my love is for the tigahs.
my wish is for victory.

"I will not go into retirement"?
Posted on 10/31/12 at 10:51 pm to BabyTac
He is a good coach, but he could have chosen another team to coach, instead of coaching a team that played against some of the kids he recruited here at LSU. The LSU players that he told when recruiting them to come here that he would be here for their time at the university and to be coaching against them a couple of years later at a competing sec west division school is a blow to his integrity to me..... maybe its just me . But that seems kinda like a low blow to the kids he recruited...

No. It was the stuff he said at the press conferences like I posted earlier.
I don't recall him saying,"I will not go into retirement" but if he did, that's a lie too. At the time, he was what, in his late 40s?
He's going to retire from coaching before he reaches 50? Yeah, ok.

You know Miles probably told his recruits at Ok st the same thing when recruiting them right?

I hope that at the end of his storied career, he'll be able to stand in front of that big(ger?) statue of his, surrounded by those crystal footballs and myriad other medals, trophies, and hand-crafted tchotchkes from the fanbase.
He'll look upon them from on high (he'll be on a stage or podium of sorts), and he'll slough out some inane, contrived platitudinous bilge that will be immediately be consumed greedily by the dewy crowd. The adoring porcine mass will applaud heartily, jowls in rhythmic motion. Those current and former colleagues who decide to show will be congenial.
Then a light rain will fall - perhaps just the heavens crying - and the metals in the statue will react with the lead in the crystal, and they will surround ye olde angry hobgoblin with a charged cloud. He'll immediately develop weird but entirely curable lesions as well as embarrassing, rancid discharge.
At the hospital, the orderly in charge of wound dressing will walk with baby bath into the hospital room, looking like a hair-studded nylon full of Yukon Golds. Hobgoblin will think "oh great" and hit the drip button. A foggy muted drawl will begin talking about heroes and heroism and those things heroes do...trying to hob with the goblin.
There will be a wish for it to just be over and maybe even the phrase "white trash" will pass through the goblinmind, and the hunched lump will lean forward smelling of garlic and mediocrity. He'll begin carefully inspecting the pustules he is there to drain, and then he'll look around to ensure he's alone.
Then he'll lift that scrub shirt to reveal what looks like a freckled poached pork loin, and there it will be. A tattoo. Of a tiger eye.
And a wink.

You guys are making Saban bigger than he is. Saban is an average coach who wins with talent advantage. When he wins a big game without talent advantage I believe all the crap they say about him.
Posted on 10/31/12 at 11:19 pm to BabyTac
I hate that he ever left. Doesn't mean I dislike Miles, I think Saban is the best overall college coach of hte modern era. Miles record will be elite as well if he stays at LSU long enough and continues his success.
Wait a fricking second!!!....Saban is on ESPN doing an interview with his legs crossed and he isn't wearing socks..I swear to God I think his legs are shaved! He has they gheyest look I've ever seen.
Miles is now the best .
