Jefferson "looked shocked" as the judge made his ruling.

District Judge Chip Moore ruled that with Jefferson's arrest last week on drug charges, Jefferson violated the terms of his bond related to an arrest last year. Jefferson was charged with simple battery after a fight at Shady's Bar in Baton Rouge in 2011

yeah i love it when LSU players go to jail too.

Hopefully they will reset bond and let him bail out. No reason for him be in jail for the charges pending.

Never liked JJ but I really don't like to see this happen to anybody. Especially over something as stuped as a few gram of pot.

Should have never changed lawyers mid-stream.
The two players that remained with Fisher (Jarvis Landry and Chris Davenport) had no charges brought against them and their names were cleared.

Was he on probation from the bar fight? If so, then yes he will go to jail.

Think they'll put him on litter duty Sunday morning?

Yes he violated his bond. Pretty standard procedure to go to jail

They got a name for people like this. That name is called ''recidivism.'' Repeat offender!

So the scales were just weighing a few grams of pot?

He was out on bail. Keeping someone in jail for such small offenses is cost prohibitive and a waste of prison beds and resources.

For violating an agreement he made to not use drugs or commit crimes as a condition of his being allowed out on bond for his last crime?

He is not going to jail for the charges pending... he is going to jail for violating his bond from his last arrest.

Over-correction from 1/9/12!!!

Yep! That's the way the justice system works. When you are on probation you need to be EXTRA careful or the judicial system treats you like a repeat offender and hardened criminal. Keep that in mind the next time one of you gets a DUI or something similar and accepts plea bargain down to probation for 12 months. This is a free public service announcement - a fringe benefit for being a Rantard. fyi
