We have lived or died by our running game. Questions is will we be able to run and move the chains against a really good defense like Bama?

Not unless they have to respect the pass... I wouldn't if I were them.

vs. their base defense? No.

vs. 8 or 9 in the box? Hell no (I don't think we'll see much of this though, BC frankly, Bama won't need to stack the box)

IF Mett can put some pressure on their secondary forcing them to into nickle, I think we can have marginal success running @ 6 defenders.

I have a feeling we will try. We will 1 yard, and cloud of dust them, play conservative, and see how much they can score. Then, if we fall behind, start throwing late..

if we can spread them out with the pass, instead of 11 in the box

its called offensive balance......

We better figure out something. Defense will not be able to win this game for us.

I think (hope) we come out slinging it early. Especially on 1st down. Think we started to see some of that vs A&M & hope it continues. It's our only chance to stay in this game IMO.

LSU must run the ball to have a chance to win this game. I look for some unconventional running in this game where we run to the outside more than we normally do. Once Bama starts to wear down a little, then we will run up the gut and pass some.

Only if we shake up our play calling- we've been too predictable imo.

I thought we should have been doing this all season, but most of our runs are right up the middle

USCe has a better defensive line than bamas and we looked pretty effective that night.

I think the key to this game is LSU putting the heat on AJM. True, easier said than done- but Bama simply has not faced a defense capable of doing it. They will, next weekend.

This should be interesting.

And yes- LSU is capable of running against Bama.

I think so. Their LBs are the strength, not their DL. What "great" run game have they even had to defend yet?

we can't run the ball against Bama and they won't need to put 9 in the box to do it like other teams have done this season. One yard and a cloud of dust. Mett better be on his game and hit those over the top passes or this offense is toast against Bama.

MSU did have the SEC's leading rusher.
