He said he will be watching Alabama-MS game:
"I don't know that I make too much of an issue. I probably will relax and have the need to take a note if there is one that is something I need to get from the film. Generally, you like to see the coaches copy where most of the information is transferred."

What does this mean?

I doubt they usually sit at home and watch the CBS version for film breakdown.

He might be referring to the coach's copy of the game film... no commentators and wacky camera angles that dont show the whole field for the entire play. Im not 100% though.

that the TV view is for entertainment purposes

the coaches copy is where you really see the teams

so for example all the Rant coaches will talk about what they saw during the telecast but they really don't know dick since it's not a real "overview" of the entire play/scheme

real hard to get that I know

You can't see shite from the broadcast version. I will review the coaches film (showing entire field and all 22 players) because that is much more useful.

It's not really important for them yo watch the broadcast of the game. The coach's copy of the game film is what they study.

I'm going to watch the game and take notes on relevant information. I encourage my staff to do the same because notes are best taken during the contest.

This. Why watch CBS for game film. That's not how you see the entire field and see formations and such.

I think the point was to say they'll watch the game and take notes.
Come in Sunday with some ideas before they watch the film.

I think others have said it well. Coaches' copy is likely a version that is designed especially for review by the coaches with an eye to game planning.

With today's technology it wouldn't be surprised if they have some interns or such break it down digitally where they can pull up say all plays of 3rd and 5-10 yards between the 20's or somthing like that.
