Mett and the wind....

I don't know if this has been mentioned and I am in no way letting Mett off the hook but in the second half when we were throwing the ball so much the wind was with us, and most likely giving him an issue with deep throws. He's still an SEC QB and it shouldn't affect him too much but coincidently his passes fell short once or twice in the first half (wind going against) and was overthrowing his passes in the second(wind going with).

I was under the same impression, seemed like the deep ball floated longer.

what is with all the posts from LSU Texas fans today that seem to be covering the same stuff discussed previously?

he doesn't seem to have "touch" on his throws... Manziel threw with the same wind

Typically, I'd dismiss that as a lame excuse, but at that game, I have to agree with you.
The wind was definitely a factor. The Aggie fans seem to acknowledge it, as well. Obviously, Mett still has issues in the passing game, but I can't deny the wind was a major factor Saturday. It had some effect on kicking, as well.
I can't say I didn't expect it, though-- My brother lives in Taylor, TX, just a few miles West of there, in the middle of farm land. The wind blows pretty hard all the time. You can't even talk on the phone outdoors.

Manziel also didn't throw deep as much and he did throw a deep pick (technically two, when Loston picked him but there was a PI)
But I figured it had been covered but I'm not on here very much days after a game because no matter if we win or lose the atmosphere around here is always a losing one

And the majority of his deep throws were off too.

4 yard passes vs 40 yard pass attempts does not equal

I totally agree, I think wind might affect a few throws but normally QB's adjust. It still pisses me off we were not able to take advantage of the first bit of openness in our deep passing game in years but we are just saving them for 11/3

I was at the game and I haven't watched the replay yet. During the replay on the Jumbotron, it appeared the A&M WR shoved off on this play. I'm assuming this is the same play where we jumped offsides?

METT against THE WIND

Hmm... I guess Manziel was throwing into the same wind, huh? Mettenberger hasn't improved in 7 games and people are still looking for reasons to justify his pathetic performances. People want to blame the makeshift offensive line, but that same line has allowed our running backs to rush for over 200 yards in the last 2 games. We need to stop looking for excuses and hope that Miles starts looking for a QB.

You do know that in football, the teams switch sides every quarter, right? Wind change isn't only affected by halftime.

I hate when announcers say the "ball sailed on him." They do this for all QBs - as if the ball was of independent mind and spirit.

Crawl out the hole you crawled in, newb.

You best not be talking about me.

Im sure the wind affected some of those deep throws
but as Mett himself said, it's no excuse
I see things that encourage me, let's hope it all comes together in two weeks
I liked most of the play calling Saturday FWIW

If you wasn't at the game, you have know idea how hard the wind was blowing! Long passes had to be hard as hell to throw accurately. I was sitting in the lower LSU endzone section. The wind had the goal post bent forward. With a steady 20 mph wind to Metts back, the long passes were going to sail. The coaches should have recognized this and called some plays with shorter routes.

He also almost had a 5th pick if you remember him scrambling toward the end zone along the left sidelines and the ball just slipping out of Reid's reach.
