Saw a thing on gun talk tv lastnight about the new sprinfield xds. It's a slim .45 sub compact. I might have to look into that one a little more. It looked awesome.

I carry a .40 glock 27 or a .380 roger lcp. It all depends on what I'm wearing. I have owned handguns for years and had what I thought would have been a good ccw but after I took the class I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought. It's ok to look around and have an idea about what you want but I would borrow a gun or rent one for the class and then you will be able to make a better decision.

As mentioned by Tiger, it's very hard to find right now. The market is slowly saturating with XDs's and Shields. It's still not quite there yet though.

I picked one up about 3 months ago and I love it. Accurate for 15-20 yards and not overly hard to control (easier than some snappy 40s). It does get a bit more fun with +Ps, of course. Highly recommend it.
