how long should i expect my drive from the french quarter to the lsu campus be? maps are telling me 1:45 but i suspect the traffic will change that.
if i plan to arrive at 10:00 am saturday, will i typically be able to find parking (free or $40)?
is the central campus parking closer to the things you are mentioning as cant miss (chimes, the hill, tailgates)?

There's always free parking at the hayfield/levee lots on River Road by the baseball field. There's usually parking there at all times before the game.

Wow. Is that with current traffic? On Saturday mornings, it won't be that long. I believe it's somewhere around 70 miles, so 1:15.

There is a map on lsusports.net for parking. The outer areas are free. On campus is $40.

Chimes is on the north gates off Highland Rd. Tailgates are all over the campus...even beyond campus. The hill? I assume this is next to Tiger Stadium where the players walk down to the locker room--> on campus.

LSUsports.net-fan zone has parking maps online. DandyDon also does a rundown of the days events.Wherever you park I would get there no later than 10, the Bama game is usually nuts.

If you arrive early and want free parking, check out Kirby Smith parking lot (look at a campus map). That lot is literally a 2 minute walk to Chimes, the parade grounds, and not far at all from the stadium.
