So is LSU prohibiting the free exercise of these students to wear a cross or not?

no. LSU did not remove the people with the painted on crosses from the stadium or otherwise attempt to physically remove the symbol/image from them. LSU did, though, remove the cross from an image that it exclusively owns within an official communication.

therefore, the law cases you cite have no bearing on the current conversation due to the fact that those cases specifically address censoring physical beings whereas this issue is a case of censoring an image, which is the exclusive property of LSU.

I did choose another sentence. I self-edited! No way would I put the F-word on this football board and offend that person...

I think that every Christian attending the Alabama game should wear a cross on the outside of their garments. Be sure to bless the ticket takers and the con session workers as well.

Shouldn't "Christians" do that anyway?

i believe it was Jesus, himself, who said that "patronizing non-believers is the only way to enter heaven."

I don't think LSU should be supporting a a group of religious zealots that seek to subjugate women, minorities and the poor. Christians are a hate group, plain and simple. Intolerance, hate, and greed are the true Holy Trinity.

Or because I own the picture and can do anything I want to do with it, I edit out any potential symbols that would be construed as offensive to a group of people and would possibly invite legal action etc.

People, this isn't hard to understand.

A Public university cannot endorse a specific religion.

That's not "pussification", that's following the constitution

I agree it is not hard to understand. It should be easy to understand that there are people (i.e. the ACLU) that are trying to scrub the public square of any religious symbols or religious speech. They have been successful enough to make many believe that it is natural and reasonable for institutions to implement policies that self-censor such speech. It should also be easy to understand that people will (and should) naturally complain to those institutions when their personal image is altered in this context. You really need to not be so sensitive (and patronizing) when people take issue with this.

So you think the state should sponsor a religion?

Which one should it be?
