Bob got killed for playing "Bradley Ball" but at least he wasn't trying to make the USMNT into something that it cannot be

If we qualify for the WC, the experiment will have been worth it. Bob had his turn and did well. It was time to try something new. Whether the players exist to make the USMNT into what JK says he wants is still in question, but I don't see how anyone can question the ambition to get to another level.
Would y'all really have wanted Bob to stay on through another WC cycle? Just so we could have had a less stressful qualifying round and Jozy would have been called up?

that's kind of the main point

bob was good at saying "we're mediocre, but we can do this to try and luck out wins against great teams"

there's merit to that, and it helped us dominate our group, other than mexico

but we were at our peak. we were never going to take another step

we're trying to improve, and sometimes trying to play pretty without the pieces or comfort is going to lead to a team playing uglier than playing ugly. frick look at chelsea last yaer under AvB
