Anyone but Tevin, can't wait for Vad next year.
Anyone sailing Johnson needs to go, or his offense sucks is simply 100% wrong, our 09 ACC 'ship was won by out scoring people, CPJ hasn't had a defense since his 1st year here.

Why hasn't he been able to recruit a big back in the mold of Dwyer or Allen?

The big athletes (even the defensive players) do not want to go there and play 1940s offensive football.
Johnson has done a terrible job recruiting, IMO. There are more people in metro Atlanta than the state of LA. Dude needs to lock down this area and hit up South Ga. for talent.
People getting robbed a couple blocks from campus all the freaking time doesn't help matters, though...

Paul Johnson has to abandon the triple-option if he wants long term success. It'll shock defenses for the first two years, but once they figure it out, you don't have a chance. I really like Georgia Tech and I want them to do well. Johnson's not the answer and neither are those hideous uniforms
Do actually watch them play? Their offense works its the D thats the issue

He's been there about 5 years now.
Teams who can prepare for his attack shut it down, or at least slow it down enough, to win the game. If they are down DDs in the 4th, it's practically over.

Which is why I think he needs to be fired. Yes his offense has been fine and is not the reason we are losing games, however, he is the head coach and it is his job to recruit players for both the offense and the defense. His offense can work with shitty players but unfortunately that isn't true for a defense.
I also think our offensive stats (and wins) are inflated with just how horrific our schedule has been recently. The ACC is the worst it has ever been and our OOC schedule is just as bad. A gang of monkeys could put up 300yards any given saturday.
The only real reason I have heard that people want him here is the "no one can recruit at GT" argument, thus his offense at least gives us a chance to win. I'm sorry but I don't believe that, I think the right guy could do pretty well here we just haven't found him. There is too much talent in GA and the metro ATL area.

This is something they need to change IMO. Georgia Tech could be a powerhouse. It has the best location of any school in the ACC. They really need to re-evaluate themselves as an athletic program. If they want to be Vanderbilt, that's fine. But they have serious potential to be elite
It's more of a degree offering issue than anything else. GT needs to broaden the degrees it offers to cater more to student athletes but I'm not sure if that will ever happen. GT, the school itself, as well as the board of regents have basically decided that isn't going to happen. UGA has a lot of pull on the BOR and I really don't think they will allow GT to add the majors needed.

Tech has no majors that we can hide student athletes in. Most get on the M-train and that is a top 30 program so it is very tough. Tech has tried to add a few majors but the BOR won't allow it. Yet they let UGA add an engineering school UGA owns this state

I am dissapointed at the politics. Why can't GT have autonomy?
I wish GT could gentrify thr surrounding areas.
Solve that before canning CPJ imo

I'm not sure why we would want to add degree programs just to be more successful in athletics. Georgia Tech was recently ranked the 24th best university in the world by The Times newspaper in London. That is much more important.
There is no reason why we can't be successful with the existing standards. Stanford has been successful recently. Why can't Georgia Tech? We have won a national championship in the last 25 years.
Paul Johnson doesn't show any evidence of developing game plans for specific teams. He doesn't keep a play list. He does it all in his head. In other words, he just shoots from the hip. That doesn't work in the business world or in the world of sports. Why would you choose to go on 4th and 1 from your own 39 on your first possession?

I was a student for five of the six Chan Gailey seasons. I am thankful every day that we have Paul Johnson instead of him. I think PJ could do better on his game strategies, but the 4th down calls help us more often than they hurt us.
