like what happened with the auburn game moron
That's what I was fishing for.
LSU went basic after the two fumbles because: LSU's defense was dominant and there was little doubt that LSU would win.
This logic doesn't fly in football, especially SEC football ---> Because LSU beat a perceived inferior opponent by two points, LSU will not play well in any other game against stronger opponents.
LSU has better players where it counts. That's the reason LSU wins this game. Blowout - no. But a comfortable win.

I don't know who wins the game cause LSU has played like crap the last 2 weeks but I do predict plenty of these dudes in Gainesville...

Sorry to be that guy but I always feel people don't put much thought into a prediction score.
I see more field goals than TD's in this game. LSU will certainly be kicking 2 or 3 IMO. I see a 16-13 type game happening. Regardless of the score LSU will not have scored only TD's.

It's LSU vs. Florida. Both teams will bring their A game. I look at this as Muschamps biggest game since HC. Towson was supposed to be a cakewalk by half with us resting our starters. It was a grind with our FB getting injured. I know a lot fans will disagree with me but your off week will be a factor in this game. LSU did only go through the motions against Towson but starters played way longer than expected for my liking. Our D at the end of that game was spent. If LSU comes out with a W in this game, you will here a loud "whew". It will be me...pumped but very nervous.

Thanks for the post. Having watched both teams play, I think we will have problems with your mobile QB. Gillislee is good but I think our DL plays the best game thus far this week. If the Tigers can keep the penalties down and the ball security is there, we win 24-17. If not, I may not come back to this board the rest of the season! to you and good luck.

Our D is solid, but our weakness is your strength. We are not good at stopping the power straight ahead run.
This makes me feel better, but something tells me Muschamp is going to stack the box.
LSU needs to get the passing game going to win this one. It comes down to Mettenberger. If he plays well, LSU wins.

Pretty much my feelings on the game as well. Mobile quarterbacks have always been tougher for the LSU defense to handle than pro style guys in recent years. Containing the big runs will be the key for this defense. I think our offense will be conservative, but we can easily win the game that way. As long as Mett avoid making the costly mistakes, we should win comfortably.

if we can get in Mettenberg's face and force some bad TO's
Tell the guys in the 3rd row to get ready, if Mett feels any pressure at all he's going to be launching it into the stands.
He was supposed to be doing this all along but hasn't. That's the reason Les made him lose the porn star mustache.

Get ready for Quagmire Football.
This is Les Miles' clandestine approach to winning football games - he turns them into Quagmires.
Just as the opposing team begins to feel confident that it is, in fact, competing in a football game with LSU, Les throws the Quagmire switch.
Now Les being Les is accustomed to operating in a Quagmire. His coaching staff, while often still appear to be taken by surprise by the Quagmire, generally are able to stick by their head coach and slog their way through. The whole trick is the effect the Quagmire has on the opposing team. Suddenly the ball begins to take very peculiar bounces, then players beging blinking in and out of the space-time continuum, and that's when it happens, Les Miles bends time.
Probably the most obvious victim of the Quagmire is Derek Dooley in 2010, but there have been other notable victims, Houston Nutt and Urban Meyer also in 2010, and Nick Saban in Bryant Denny's just last year.
So if the game in Gainesville this weekend is in doubt in the second half, look for Les to go to the Quagmire...
...and be careful.

I am very confident that things are going to smooth out this week. Finally playing quality teams. I think the team rises to the occasion from here on out.

I love all the talk about all UF has to do is stack the box to win. What about us stacking the box against UF. They have a much worse passing game than what we do.

Other than Tebow and Newton, who were both all-timers, which mobile QB has LSU struggled against recently?

Good all around thread/post. Welcome to the Rant.
I am going to jump out there and say 26-13 LSU (a lot of field goals)...with one of our touchdowns being late in the game on a running play.

Enders last weekend.

Jeremiah Masoli scored 36 points against LSU with Ole Miss. The Oregon and Mississippi State games were the closest games LSU played last season outside of Alabama. Tebow and Newton both beat LSU. Jake Locker kept Washington close a few years back. Obviously there are other factors in all those games besides a scrambling quarterback, but statistically those teams have a much better chance against the John Chavis defense

I wouldn't call that struggling.
A team might have more success with a mobile QB, but I wouldn't go as far to say LSU struggles against them.
