OSU printed "wear black" and "wear orange" on some football tickets, posters and on the athletic website to coordinate colors.
But the "wear black" days aroused concerns.
"This community is not ready for having a blackout Reser or a wear black day when students don't realize wearing black could be really culturally insensitive," said Amelia Harris, president of the Associated Students of OSU.

Guess they need to finally go through with it and change their mascot from the Beavers to the Pussies.

Oregon had a blackout planned previously but changed the name to lights out. All because of PC.
Find it funny that 2 schools from the same state are worried about that when there is only 5% African Americans in the state.
Washington however had no issue doing so even though they have a lot more AA's.

Orange outs? OK
Black outs? Na ah.

Before you know it the Cleveland Browns will have to change their name because people will think it's "racist"

Which is maybe why they're worried about it...they don't trust the fans to not do something distasteful...especially OSU...which is 80% redneck.
Sidenote - Oregon used to be a huge Klan state...the N-word was in the Oregon Constitution.

You quoted this:
And left out this:
Sounds like a good call to save the university some potential embarrassment.

Harris is referring to an incident back in 2007 which led to protests outside Reser Stadium. During a student campaign called "Blackout Reser," some students wore black face paint and afro wigs.
Sounds like a good call to save the university some potential embarrassment.

I'd love to hear how wearing the color black can be seen as culturally insensitive.
