I wonder how 2 tight ends work? It would sure give Mett taller targets.

Those cb's for Auburn were sure step for step with our wr's. What say you?
Posted on 9/23/12 at 3:09 pm to tigertrax101
our 2 tight ends got 11 false start penalties in 12 snaps last night

One of those TE's would have to stay back in pass blocking to help the LT.

The world coming into the season was that our TE's have hands of stone, FWIW. Although Clement did make a nice catch last night.

Did you not see clement and Jacobs false starting every 1st down?

I know that those false starts have to stop! Offense has so much to work on this week.

Our short to intermediate passing game is ok. What we need help with is a big play WR

it helps when you throw the ball downfield.

To me it seemed like after running a no huddle Auburn was scrambling around, then we would give them an extra 10 seconds while checking with the sideline.

Two, you have to have protection for the deep ball, and in case you didn't notice, our o line couldn't give Mett time to throw if they were playing against Belhaven
Three, our wideouts can't beat a DB one on one to save their lives

Ensminger is in charge of the OL since stud is in the box, dude is pretty worthless

@7thward u are right about our wr's not being able to beat the cb's . That was very disappointing .

I think it's more disappointing that they couldn't bring in the deep ball when they get a hand on it. I'm not surprised Auburn has CB's that can hang, total team cohesion and individual talent/athleticism are 2 different things...and Auburn is still an SEC school. They have top tier talent at most positions on their roster.

Based on your other thread, this is b/c a deep threat WR would prevent safeties from stopping the run and make LSU's great zone blocking spring some real yardage?

Our "no huddle" isn't necessarily about snapping it quicker and catching the defense off guard...it's about not allowing the defense to make substitutions.

Imagine this team with a Sammy Watkins type wideout

Jett's deep ball placement was okay on the ODB pass. He just misfired it to Shep. Watch the replay. If he throws to the inside the right hash, Shep walks in with a score. Instead he threw it back to the boundary side of the hash and Shep had to adjust back to it fading. Made the play for the DB much easier and he of course made it.
One was on the WR. One was on Mett.

Mett will need two against Alabama. He will not be able to stand in the pocket long at all. If we plan to throw the deep ball, it will have to be on first down.
