Why does anyone want to hear Leno or Letterman's point of view on politics?

I don't need to hear either but they can't ignore a political gaffe and at some point their political leanings can be discerned. They also hire 20 year old joke writers and it is usually easier to make jokes about Romney than Obama.

Fwiw I think Kimmel is better than both of these guys at their current state but I have always felt Leno was a hack.

But they can avoid inviting Rachel Maddow on the show five times a year. I would rather watch a directional no-name commercial actress get interviewed.
