What about if you just count the last 20 years?

Well at least they're consistent, you gotta give them that.

8-4 LSU team in 1988.
They showed the reverse angle after tOSU's winning "td". The ball clearly hit the ground and was trapped.
Earl Bruce thought the officiating in Tiger Stadium was biased in LSU's favor in a tie game. He promised that it would be different in Ohio. It was.

Just saying, I've seen some Ohio St teams try and discredit the 06 team since the title game loss...

Fine trolling, Kosmo.

Cute that you think that.
In what way is he wrong?
The elite athletes in the country come from the SE, texas, and california. Why would they ever want to go all the fricking way up to Ohio to play in the cold ever again. Everybody is on TV now and many of the SEC schools are close in size to Ohio State. You'll still get your upper midwestern kids, lineman, and the like, but you will never get the consistent stud athletes that the SEC powers, Texas, or california schools will get. You'll still have a ton of fans, go to rose bowls and the like but you will never compete year in and year out with the best of the best.

So explain why so many elite basketball players come from the east coast and midwest? They aren't elite athletes?
Jesus, that's a dumb statement.

bringing up basketball players in a football thread = does not compute

No, elite athletes are in every part of the country. Areas with higher percentage of black population will have a higher percentage since blacks are a majority of elite athletes. This also has to do with the dominance of certain sports.
For example, Hockey players are elite athletes. How many are from Louisiana?

School attendence numbers have zero to do with how good a sports program is.

This is just funny. Why arent all the players in the NFL from the SEC?
SEC is the best conference right now, no doubt. It might have something to do with scholarship flexibility imo.

So now we're bringing up hockey in a football thread?
Posted on 9/18/12 at 6:40 pm to VABuckeye
This thread is still going on? Ohio State is done. The SEC has pushed itself on a mountain that midwest teams can't climb.

This is not an argument you want to make. The black population in a number of non-southern states is comparable to, or on some cases higher than, the black population in southern states ( Illinois, for example, has more blacks than some southern states). While the proportion is higher in most southern states, the total black population isn't necessarily higher. The higher proportion of blacks in the population doesn't explain the phenomenon. I suspect there are socio-economic factors and social trends – like a higher level of participation in high school football among southern blacks, perhaps. But it isn't because there are significantly more blacks in the south, because there aren't.
