Whats up with the O-line

Drew didnt have time to set his feet or look down field. He was always moving in the pocket to get away from the 2 or 3 skins defenders in his face.

Ever heard of Ryan Kerrigan, Brian Orakpo, or London Fletcher?

truly, the Kerrigan/Orakpo 3-4 OLB combo could be the clearcut best duo in the NFL by the end of the year. Both still getting better. Not dissimilar to how Evans & Nicks developed at the OG position.

Washington has a pretty good defense.
I know blues disagrees, but I think our offensive line is just average.
DLP is a little bit of an overacheiver (I love that about him though) and our tackles are ok. Our guards are our best o-linemen. I think Drew makes the o-line look better than they are by getting rid of the ball quickly.
My only real concern is whether or not they (and the running game) can take over late in a game if we need them to. We will have to wait and see.

The lack of effort to establish a run game and totally abandoning the screen game played a big factor in the constant pressure that he felt all day.

52 pass attempts. I'll say it again. Your team will usually lose. Period.
Again...52 attempts.
Again...52 attempts.

disagree, I think it is more the result of the game circumstances. There's a fulcrum of score and time remaining you cross where the run balance diminishes. Eventually it goes out the window. The first game where the score/time favors the Saints that strongly you will see the rushes increase significantly.

agree and didn't understand that

We attempted to run the ball early and constantly got stuffed. We abondoned the running game and got predictable, which let Washington go ape shite with the pash rush.

Our OL didn't look good in the preseason. The first snap vs AZ, Brees dropped back maybe 3 steps and the DT had him by the ankles. The only pass protection I remember in the preseason was vs Houston.

Not really. PT was getting 4-5 yard runs. Ingram was getting stuffed, unfortunately.

Why is that surprise when you are constantly down by 13 or more and playing a team scoring at will? Add Drew Brees and maybe you'll see the light.

Didn't say anything about being surprised. It was in reply to the OP. Throwing that much rarely makes your o-line look good or leads to wins.
