Can't find CZ-75 really anywhere to actually hold one. Wondered what this place thought of these? I am looking at a 40SW like the feel. Just have never heard anyone discuss anything other than the BIG Desert Eagle cannons.

Rounds aren't cheap, and you won't want to shoot it all that much. I sold one I had because I never used it. It just sat in the safe.

I got my .44 Super Blackhawk and scope with what I had in that DE. Now I hunt with a pistol a dozen times or more each year.

No!!!

Not even considering a full sized 44 or any of that shite. Just the Baby Eagle. 40 or even possibly a 9mm

Just some things i found when bored,

quote:

The EAA Witness is now the most common and is generally a reliable pistol. However, most shooters agree the Baby Eagle is the superior CZ clone and the only pistol of the type other than the original to have seen extensive military and police service.

quote:

The Baby Eagles are of the highest quality. In fact, the type has been the standard issue of many Israeli units, even the Israeli Special Forces.

quote:

The Baby Eagle pistol is assembled, fitted and finished in Israel from parts supplied from Tangfoglio in Italy.

The Baby Eagle, as you know it, is another of many pistols based off the CZ-75 design. It was developed by IWI and originally named the Jericho 941, then I believe it was just Jericho. A handful of distributors have imported and distributed the pistol under the Jericho name. The gun went under the Baby Eagle moniker when Magnum Research began importing and distributing it. The only similarities are cosmetic. They are known to be good handguns, but heavy handguns. I personally like the weight and feel of them. They also point very nicely. I wouldn't recommend it as a carry piece though. The earlier ones came with polygonal rifling, which IMO is better than the later used land and groove rifling.

Most people are surprised when someone tells them that no law enforcement or military uses the DE. Since video games make it seem common, people believe it.

But in actuality, the Desert Eagle is a HUGE, clunky, unreliable weapon. It's only real use as a firearm is a novelty item. I've shot one and they're pretty fun, but as mentioned already, .44 Mag, .357 Mag, and .50 AE are all expensive rounds, especially the 50.

I haven't heard a lot about the Baby Eagle, but I know recently Kahr Arms bought out Magnum Research who makes the Desert Eagle. I don't know if that means they make the Baby Eagle as well, but Kahr is a great company and I'm a big fan of their products. If they own it, it'll probably be good.

I would look up some real world reviews of it on Youtube. That's your best bet.

The video gamers know a lot more about the .50 AE Desert Eagle than anyone. Because that's its claim to fame.

I think you can safely assume that few, if any, U.S. LE agencies have ever issued the original (.50 AE) Desert Eagle. I would take the "under" if the O/U betting line were to be set at two.

When the .50 AE Desert Eagle was made in Israel, the Israeli military had an interest in it. There were reports that it was supposed to be issued to Israeli tank crews, but I've never seen any credible evidence that this ever took place. I've heard of some being sold to a handful of military units, but am not aware of any that actually issued them to troops.

But the world is a big place-- so anything is possible.

p.s. I do have a MR Desert Eagle 1911 (.45 ACP). Never shot it -- got it last year from Kahr under their Instructor Program and tossed it into the gun safe. Could have chosen the Desert Eagle Mark XIX in .50 AE, but who would want one ??

In The Matrix, the agents carried Desert Eagles.
None of the humans did. They mostly had Berettas, with a Sig, HiPower and some others thrown in.

I have a pocket Micro Desert Eagle and like it. I don't know anyone else who owns one though.

OHHHH, I see. What you meant to say was "if you leave reality and enter the Matrix, look out." You had it bassackwards and it confused me.

Someone mentioned CZ and I agree they make great firearms. My buddy's CZ 75B in .40 was pretty easy to shoot. I think my Beretta 96 is a bit smoother but that's just me.

The CZ sp01 Phantom is a great handgun, and my favorite CZ. The internal slide design makes it easy to manipulate and very very easy to shoot. It's one smooth piece.
