Is he going to be playing offense and defense or just offense?

ETA: This year I mean.

Pretty good ranking by the 247 boys. Oh, and keep him away from Florida...

Not to hijack, but as a father of a recruit and hopefully future tiger....

Do you have more respect for miles because of the last week? Or indifferent?

And glad he got his offer. He worked his arse of for it. Like Hilliard says, no cielings!

ETA: Wow top 100 nationally! Awesome to see hard work pay off. You never answered before, do you feed him nails? Dynamite? Something in the water?

Last I heard, he is gonna be playing LT, DT, and some SDE. The defensive part is subject to change...who knows.

Ed, first of all congrats on Dylan's offer. I don't have an opinion one way or the other about what Miles does with his team. I've learned that a lot more goes on behind the scenes than fans realize. I know this next statement I'm about to make will probably stir up some shite here, but here goes...As far as where Garrett decides to attend college, we are not looking at it from a fans point of view. LSU is under consideration just like each of the other schools that have and will offer. It will come down to who is the best fit for what he wants his college experience to be, and where he feels the most comfortable and wanted. If that's LSU then so be it, if not I can except that too. I'm not pushing him one way or the other. Like I said earlier, I've seen and heard some behind the scences stuff that the armchair fan has no idea about.

At LSU in particular or speaking in general terms? I think the "behind the scenes" stuff goes on at every program, you may just have more familiarity with LSU. Regardless, hopefully it doesn't skew your perspective.

I was speaking about the recruiting game in general. Nothing specific about LSU

There is no point in getting detailed about that stuff.

Let me clarify. I wasn't referring to anything illegal or unethical. I was referring to the evaluation processes the universities and the student athlete's use to make there decisions. As strictly a fan, some don't see it like that.

I wasn't saying I was a father of a recruit.... I was referring to you.

The national sites can easily overlook talented players and become "starstruck"

I personally think the LSU staffs policy of evaluating guys at camp has, and will continue to pay big dividends. The guys who earned camp offers, like Garrett, have always turned out to be really big contributors at LSU under miles.

This is why I love TD. Where else do you get this kind of candor from those in the actual "know"? Thank you for your insight and experiences, rightfully guarded that they are.

Congrats on Garretts offer and ranking. I enjoy reading your post because its nice to read things from someone that is actively in the recruiting process.

Sounds like you are doing this the right way

But maybe nudge him a hair in our direction
