IF the Kingsguard where protecting Lyanna is plausible that she was married to Rhaegar, as Targs where known to have multiple wives.
IF, Lyanna was married to Rhaegar, then Jon Snow is Jon Targaryen.
Which is what I believe to be 100% and that will come out soon. I also think GRRM is upset at this, because he wanted it to be a shocker, instead it's the worst kept secret of the books.

Well when it takes you 10 years to write a book there is plenty of time for book nerds like ourselves to tease everything out from clues.
Hell, even the dumbass hodors can tease things out from the show.

If Jon Snow, is Jon Targaryen, and Aegon is really Rhaegar's son by Elia, wouldn't Aegon still be the heir because he would be Rhaegar's oldest son?

If they weren't married, there would be absolutely no cause for the Kings guard. The only real reason for them to be there is if they were married.

Wrong. He has said multiple times that he writes for smart people. David and Dan were asked the question "who is Jon Snow's mother" and they apparently answered correctly or they would not have the show. He's said before that he doesn't do things his way for shock value he does it because it has to happen. It's why he created this grey world. He looked at other narratives and saw that the hero always wins, but he said they're are no heroes and the people that the readers are made to like don't always win. He doesn't care if people find out what happens. He's not Quentin Tarentino.
