terrible idea. why would Theon be compelled to rescue the crazy bitch who is responsible for getting his junk removed and who he watches sadistically hunting other woman

: The Hobbit was an instant hit when it was published in 1937. Despite huge demand for another story involving the creatures know as hobbits, author J.R.R. Tolkien did not release a follow up for another 17 years.
This comparison is ridiculous
The Hobbit was a stand alone book, not part of a series.

I think it makes sense for show purposes since Jeyne was shown like one time at Winterfell in S1.

Hey everyone, we are trying to plan another Crackpot meetup sometime in the next few months. There are only a couple of email addresses in the thread and I think some of y'all have expressed an interest in coming this time. Either post your email on here or if you don't want it on the board send it to me at ladytiger118@yahoo.com.

Yeah... You don't Tolkien much do you?
He wanted the Silmarillion, The Hobbit and LOTR to be a series about gems and jewels. Also the demand for more books was there, the same way fans of ASoIaF demand books.
ETA:
LT118 for some reason your email is coming up invailed for me. Anyway I guess add att.net to my SN and that's my correspondence email.

Are you sure you Tolkien much?
Because the hobbit was so successful the publisher asked for a sequel, and as Tolkien progressed with Rhe Lord of the Rings he made revisions in The Hobbit to accommodate it. The entire Riddles In the Dark chapter, iirc was retroactively added to The Hobbit

Some nerds in this thread...

Except, Tolkien started writing the mythology of Eä in 1914 that would essentially be the Silmarillion. He started notes and outline for The Hobbit in 1917. When the publisher asked for a sequel, he gave the publisher The Silmarillion and it was turned down. He started revising parts of The Silmarillion and ended up just writing The Lord of the Rings.
It still doesn't take away the fact that people wanted more and it took him over ten years to deliver.

I was watching season 4 on HBOGO, and I just had to stop at the moment that Jon goes back to Craster's Keep. It pisses me off every single time because it is just a stupidly pointless digression. Just like whatever the hell they were doing with Theon and Yara, or whatever the hell they call Asha in the show, last season. I didn't mind changes like Arya being Tywin's cupbearer, but so many of the changes to the characters just seem to be changed without any thought to coherent character arcs and story lines, which makes the books so good.
Now they want me to swallow Ramsey's GF ( which already completely disregards the fact that a man so debased as Ramsey would never have a steady, even as debased as himself, because it would mean he has some respect for someone else. It is quite obvious he does not. ) as the Faux Arya?
The Ghost of Winterfell is quite honestly my favorite chapter/arc in the books so far, and it is pretty obvious that the show is going to royally F it up at this point.

Its very different to have it known you're on Book 5/7 than just read a book thats not part of a planned series and want more

You can buy just an HBO GO subscription by itself now even if you don't have HBO...right?

That's why I roll my eyes when the show creators complain about not having time or the budget to do some things in the books. They completely waste time and money on these idiotic ideas that make no sense and hurt the overall story

You'd roll your eyes at anything the show creators do at this point.
Watching the Season 4 marathon on HBO2 and enjoying it too. The horror.

Ok...it's an adaptation, not a translation. It's two very different mediums and...and...ah frick it.

It's not worth it. Trust me.
