I'm with you honestly. I was much more pissed that they left out who Tysha actually was in that episode. Yes, it was still a great scene and episode, but Tyrion really had no reason to go visit Tywin in the show. He'd already sent him to the front lines of a battle and King's Landing to have likely been slaughtered, what's one more death trap in their relationship? Knowing that he truly ruined the only time he had been happy and having the love of his life being brutally raped by his guards, Tywin had to pay there instead of waiting for vengeance later. He needed to know of Tysha at that moment and make him pay for it, and it's an incredible chapter.

I wonder if they did that because they thought viewers may have forgotten who she was. Or maybe it's because he had a stronger relationship with Shae in the show.

I just recently had time to read the world book cover to cover and I was really hoping for more on Summerhall, Hardhome and the Doom. I guess that means those things have important secrets to reveal.

If they were worried about people forgetting (which is possible, Hodors are stupid) they could've put Tyrion telling the story back in Season 2 in the "previously on" segment before the opening credits. They've gone back a season or two and done that before if Im not mistaken

Nah. I wish he'd finish the book just as much as all of you do. My issue is with the two dickheads that are basically going to just skip over two whole books while spoiling the entire series in a race to the finish and giving us a very watered down lame version. Meanwhile leaving out major characters and using the excuse of budget concerns. Only to make up characters that aren't in the books and totally contradict themselves.

It's just a terrible worst case scenario for both book and show fans

So D&D are dickheads for continuing with the show under GRRM's advisement?

Did it ever cross your mind that they've made some major changes to avoid spoiling readers as best as they can while producing a show?

In all seriousness for as much leeway as you give GRRM it's hilarious that you're giving D&D none and blaming them for continuing their show within the constraints of budget (which is a legit concern, just ask HBO's Rome) and continuity with popular characters/actors.

Or it could be that people can be fans of a book series and not bitch, moan, and act like 13 year old children by calling someone who has brought countless hours of entertainment to them a fat pos or speculate on his or her death just because a couple of books set in a highly detailed and imaginative world (that they could never create) have not come out yet, even though it hasn't been four years since the latest one was released. Pardon the guy for having a life. If only more people would be subjected to harsh unprovoked critism to work at their job 24/7. Then maybe we'd all be happier.

Fun literally fact of the day: The Hobbit was an instant hit when it was published in 1937. Despite huge demand for another story involving the creatures know as hobbits, author J.R.R. Tolkien did not release a follow up for another 17 years.

I could go a little further and even say that The Silmaillon took 60 years to be release due to early notes and drafts of the book started in 1917.

I think it's great that they are continuing the show within budget restraints. I think they suck when they venture out on storylines of their own. And they've managed to screw up some of the best moments in the books too i.e Tysha, the Eyrie storyline etc.

I think it's ridiculous they are skimming over basically two huge books. That's assuming everything I've read about the upcoming seasons are true.

Up until season 3 they had done a fantastic job. Last season they really missed the mark I believe

Or at least have Tyrion mention it a few times this season. Maybe once with Sansa, then have Littlefinger remind her of it (lying and saying that he had her raped by his own guards), and then with Jaime, saying he should have learned his lesson the first time in falling in love with whores. You still get Shae's death, but I don't think you need to keep it connected to Tywin's aside from the sheer hypocrisy that he has her in his bed.

I'm all about the ride when I am enjoying a series. Be it tv or book series. I understand that most people just want to know the end

I fully agree with you, but then I thought the back story and explanations of Feast were very integral in understanding the motivations of so many in the book, whereas it appears most are just bored by it. However, other than fleshing out Bronn, I have been extremely non-plussed by the changes made by D&D. I will watch the show, but it usually irritates me as much as it entertains me.

I've said it a million times in this thread. AFFC is an amazing book. They could really use AFFC to show viewers the expansive world in which this series exist. And like you said, to explain in better detail why a lot of the things from past seasons happened. Not to mention the unraveling of Cercei. The aftermath of the War of 5 Kings. The Kingsmoot. Etc etc

Reading Martin's NotaBlog annoys the hell out of me but I've come up with the very effective strategy of not reading it. Its worked beautifully so far.
