Just finished Storm with the SO who was reading for the first time. He got semi spoiled on the RW so he knew something bad was coming, just didn't know who all was going to die. He was distraught thinking Arya was dead.
His best reaction though had to be when Lady Stoneheart shows up. He was very much "NO frickING WAY"
The Hodor reactions to all of the deaths this season and Stoneheart are going to be great.

Ok, I know that just about every crackpot theory that one could possibly conceive is already out there somewhere, so I won't say that this is a new one, but...
I was thinking, did Jon's death and his impending resurrection by Mel serve another purpose other than giving Jon an out to leave the Night's Watch and go wreck shite in Westeros? Lots of people (self included) believe the LS+RT theory which obviously makes Jon a Targ. BUT, Jon is not immune to fire like Dany, which puts a major dent in the idea of him being a dragon rider. GRRM goes to great lengths to remind us that Jon burned his hand. He also spent a huge chunk of time with Quentyn showing that simply having Targ blood isn't enough to keep you from being burned to a crisp (not to mention Viserys).
SO, do y'all think that it's possible that being brought back by R'hllor fixes that?

Actually, there are many who believe that Val will bring him back as she may be an Old Gods priestess. This is based upon things such as her wierwood mask pin, Dalla's wisdom regarding magic, Tormund's ancient runic arm rings that may mark him as a priest as well as his consumption of mead as part of some customary rites, how easily she gets along with Ghost, and how despite how beautiful she is no man has stolen her yet, as it may be believed by the freefolk that she chooses who may steal her, after all Jarl was only refered to as her latest pet.
It is theorized that she is an agent of Bloodraven and BR will be guiding Jon Snow into Ghost when he "dies"/grievously injured. Dalla acting as an agent of BR will bring him back. Some connect this to Theon dying/being sacrificed in front of the weirwood tree in Winterfell, just like the vision Bran had after eating the wierwood paste.
Well it's just a theory, and Jon was just outside Val's tower or more specifically Hardin's Tower.

Could be interesting; I like Bronn. They had to change it since Wilko Johnson (Ilyn Payne) is dying of cancer.
quote:Cersei is always after Tyrion, they'll assume it's her doings, but they won't know why.
I didn't get that at all. They may want to know why he's in chains but as already said everyone knows the Lannisters are bat shite. They could come to that conclusion a multitude of ways.

Ahh, but Jon has something no one else in the series has. He has the Blood of the First Men and Old Valyria flowing in equal parts through his body. And unlike Dany, Jon is a skinchanger, so it's open to possibility that he may warg Drogon, Rhaegal, or Visyrion.

True, which is expected with Jon and Bran, but I still see Jon actually riding the dragon. GRRM has also made a point of showing that Dany is no longer able to control her dragons; warging would be a way to do that. I also think that it will be part of the story with Euron and the dragon horn. I think that he helps Dany by using the dragon horn to help control the dragons and use them in battle at first, then he turns on her and tries to take control of the dragons for himself.
As for Jon, my money is still on Mel bringing him back. I think we pretty much all agree that he warged into Ghost, which may also be significant. When Beric came back, he said that he lost a little piece of himself each time, but he was coming back from the dead. Jon, on the other hand, didn't actually die if he warged into Ghost. Just a thought.
Damn, we just need another book. The wait for ADWD was bad, but the wait for TWOW is starting to get pretty bad, too. I'm like a freaking crack addict! C'mon, just give me a little hit! Gimme another POV or something!

Plus Theon can't lie in front of the Heart Tree.
Definitely think Jon may be brought back by Bran and Bloodraven instead of Mel.

Dany isn't immune to fire, she actually burns her hands at one point in the series. The dragons being born was due to the blood magic with her burning the witch and her hubby.
For further confirmation, a couple quotes from GRRM:
In 2000 GRRM wrote in an online Q&A (emphasis is his, not mine):
Granny: Do Targaryens become immune to fire once they "bond" to their dragons?
George_RR_Martin: Granny, thanks for asking that. It gives me a chance to clear up a common misconception. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn't immune to that molten gold.
Revanshe: So she won't be able to do it again?
George_RR_Martin: Probably not.
And, in 1998 he wrote:
"Lastly, some fans are reading too much into the scene in GAME OF THRONES where the dragons are born -- which is to say, it was never the case that all Targaryens are immune to all fire at all times."

I'm currently doing a re-watch of the show and one thing I've noticed is that the show kinda pushes the fact that Targs can't be burned. So I think that's why so many people think that.
There's several scenes in the show that they deliberately make it a point to show the viewer that Dany specifically can't be burned.
Idk why they chose to do that. As most book readers are aware, that is definitely not the case. Especially if you've read TP&TQ because that story revolves around mostly Targs

Jon is 1 year older than Dany. Both Jon & Robb were born in 283, and Dany in 284.

Kit was born in December 1986 & Emilia May 1987. Just looked it up on IMDb .

Very close in age. Both are said to have been born in the last month of Robert's Rebellion.

So the entire realm is in the state that it's in because of philandering Rhaegar.
Oh, and a mad king.

Rhaegar was obsessed with prophecies, that's for sure. But the rebellion started because Aerys burned Rickard & Brandon. If the Mad King were sane they could've settled the matter of Lyanna & Rhaegar. However I think she left with him willingly and loved him. She had no love for Robert and knew he was a manwhore.
According to GRRM he's going to fill in the blanks of Robert's Rebellion in the last 2 books. So we'll have to wait (ugh) to see what actually happened.
