Like?
Cersei may by crazy and stupid, but her assumptions as to how scenarios will play out doesn't mean that she is illiterate when it comes to the law. She certainly uses the law to her advantage when it serves her cause, a la Robert Strong.

Will do. Thanks
Robert Strong won't be fighting a Kettleblack. That's all I can say. Period.

What about King Aerys and Rickard Stark?
Again, you are using a lunatic who constantly broke laws to prove your point.
Aerys was mad. It is known.

So we can't rely on anything Aerys did because he is a lunatic, but we are to believe Cersei's delusional ramblings while she is scrambling to find the smallest measure of hope while locked up in a call?

You said yourself that it would be a very public trial so by that alone it should be by the book.
Was Rickard Stark calling for Rhaegar's head over Lyanna's kidnapping at King's Landing not very public? Or King Aerys actions afterward?

The quotes you posted most certainly point towards her being ignorant to the law of the land. Every precedent put forth in this series so far counteracts her views.

That may well be. But to think that Margaery's champion will face off against Cersei's, which has been discussed in this thread a lot, is ludicrous.
The accusations brought forth are not between Cersei and Margaery, therefore their champions will not face off against each other.
Meaning Loras, or whoever is Margaery's rep, will not face Strong.

Cersei's assumptions of a Queen's champion facing her accuser was given before she was in jail. She was in the litter on the way up to meet the High Septon. She wasn't arrested yet.

I don't at all disagree with this. Is that what we are discussing? If so, I am lost.
What I recall of this thread were that people were theorizing that Marg would have Loras fight for her in a Trial By Combat, but I think we've pretty much concluded that that would be silly since she has nothing to gain and everything to lose by choosing a TBC.

Fair enough; however, I still think she was sadly mistaken. She was having those thoughts because she thought she would be able to control The Faith and dictate how the trial was to go. She found out otherwise, harshly, as soon as she entered the Sept.
Again, she is almost always wrong.

Where the frick did this even come from? I made a comment out of confusion that would relate to that but other than that one instance (which I later recanted) that hasn't been argued in this thread at all???
Nor was that what you have been arguing this whole time.

One more time, listen closely
MARGERY HAS CHOSEN A TRADITIONAL TRIAL. SHE WILL NOT HAVE A TRIAL BY COMBAT THEREFORE WILL NOT HAVE A CHAMPION.

Wasn't the Faith Militant disbanded long before Arthur Dayne was born? So who named him SoM?
King Maegor supressed the militant orders of the Sword and Star. That was way before Arthur Dayne, so you just squashed my theory right out of the gate.
So much for the Gravedigger wielding Dawn. :tear:

Related question - Why haven't they named another in the 20 years or so since AD's death?
No one knows this yet, except for our man GRRM. There is nothing on how the office of Sword of the Morning is appointed. We don't even know who is in possession of Dawn right now.
I did read that before Arthur Dayne was given Dawn, it had been some 40 years since the previous Sword of the Morning.
The entire thing is a mystery.

Umm, that's what we've all been saying here. That he won't face Kettleblack because she's being tried by the Faith and not Margaery (who will have her own separate trial).
I think you're talking out of both sides of your mouth saying this.

Again, you are taking an event that took place under Aery, a lunatic, and placing it into the current state of affairs.
Even though Rhaegar meant to overthrow Aerys, it's safe to assume that Aerys, due to his insanity, would not allow anything bad to be talked about regarding his son.
Hell, he told Tywin that Rhaegar would not marry Cersei because she was a servant's child. The guy was nuts, but I like him anyway.

Maybe not. We don't know that Arthur Dayne is the first Sword of the Morning. If we operate under the assumption that the bearer of Dawn is the Sword of the Morning then there were likely ones that came before him. Their castle and their coat of arms all reference Dawn so I think it goes back waaaaayy father then him.
Your theory is still safe.

I know she has chosen a traditional trial. I read it. However, if you go back about 10-14 pages you will see that many people theorize that Loras or his brother will face Strong. I didn't just pull that out of the air. Read the thread friend.

And Ceresi isn't a lunatic at this point?

There was like 1 person that theorized that, and a bunch of people that shot it down.

So we are to disregard every precedent laid down in this series because you say so????

I don't remember anybody saying that, but I guess its possible that one random person said it.
