It wouldn't surprise me if Mel had Jon killed so his rebirth could happen as AA. Remember, in her POV she had a clouded view of Stannis/her king/AA and only saw "snow". Perhaps she figured it out?

The more I think about it, I really do believe it could've went down this way.
I also think that Jon dying then coming back is a plot device in getting him out of his vow to the Night's Watch in the most honorable way possible.

Its certainly possible and it wouldn't surprise me however I'm still not quite sold on that.
Remember she warned him countless times of "knives in the dark" and counseled him to always keep his wolf close. There just isn't any evidence that she masterminded the assassination.

Dany got her period in the last chapter (either that or she has the flux and will die), so I think she will have another child.

Now this I believe.

I've grown to the point that I don't even want her near Jon if he lives. We can just go along with the thought that Ygritte was his Nissa Nissa or something. I'd gladly overlook any inconsistencies with that to avoid a Jon/Dany hookup.

I don't know the chapter that Jon shoves a sword through Dany's heart would be fricking epic
I mean take my reaction to the red wedding and completely reverse it

Also something to fuel the Jon is AA fire. Here is his dream:
Foreshadowing? I think maybe so.
Also, something that I've thought about. But why was Bowen Marsh crying when he stabbed Jon? He didn't have any real emotional attachment to him. And if you think about, there were comments about smoke rising from the blades that stabbed him and tears are technically salt water. Then you have Ser Patrek being torn to shreds over top of him, fulfilling the "Under a bleeding star.." portion to a degree.
quote:
Burning shafts hissed upward, trailing tongues of fire. Scarecrow brothers tumbled down, black cloaks ablaze. "Snow," an eagle cried, as foemen scuttled up the ice like spiders. Jon was armored in black ice, but his blade burned red in his fist. As the dead men reached the top of the Wall he sent them down to die again. He slew a greybeard and a beardless boy, a giant, a gaunt man with filed teeth, a girl with thick red hair. Too late he recognized Ygritte. She was gone as quick as she’d appeared.

Yeah but then we'd have chapters of them fawning over each other. Not having it unless Dany does something fricking useful.

I was so proud of myself when I caught that passage on my re read a few months ago.
I was pretty sure about Jon being AA before but after that I was sold.

I desperately need to re-read SoS before the next season starts. I feel like I've forgotten all kinds of shite and am constantly having to look stuff back up when I read those forums.
I'm convinced those people have read the books at least 5-6 times.

Dany will give birth to a baby named Ned to end the series.

I still want to see Jon with Val. She's a badass and apparently a hottie. He has a pension for Wildlings. Make it happen GRRM.

Seriously, Dany is definitely one of the most disappointing characters to me because she has soooooooooooooooo much potential and has just been incessantly lingering and bitching. I almost hoped her period was the bloody flux and that her arse was Dothraki grass at that point.
Maybe she dies and the dragons fly to the only potential Targs left in the realm (Aegon or Jon).
Posted on 8/14/12 at 9:33 pm to BluegrassBelle
Which brings me to the next theory. Is Aegon the Mummer's Dragon? Or is he legitimately a Targ?

Are we all in agreement that Lady Stoneheart is Catelyn Starl? I got into a discussion at work and another guy disagreed with me. Seems pretty obvious to me, the guy is a renowned idiot.

Me too. And it's penchant, haha.
I think that Ned will be reborn as Azor Ahai....
