Harwin can also tell apart the real Aryas.
Can't wait to see what Hallis Molle, Maege Mormont, and Galbart Glover are up to in the next book. I think that's a huge and pretty forgotten plot point going foward.

Something that wasn't well thought out by GRRM was the lack of Stark soldiers or guardsmen. Once Ned left with his 50 and Ser Rodrik's men were obliterated they had no guards. Meanwhile the Lannisters and Tyrells have hundreds of personal guards.

Well in his defense the Starks came to KL during peace time. The Tyrells and Lannisters rode in in the midst of a war.

Anyone else wonder what Dagmer Cleftjaw's ultimate role will be? It's weird when you realize he still has Torrhen's Square.

No shite?
I forgot about that completely. I've been thinking he was dead this whole time, now I'm intrigued.

I think Asha mentioned him to Stannis as a potential ally but he shot it down.

Yea I looked him up and he is indeed holding Torrhen's Square. I'm like you I wonder what Martin has up his sleeve for him.

Speaking of the Ironborn, how will it play out with Victarion? He is slowly turning towards the Sun over the Drowned God. Will he reach Dany?

I think so. Dany needs to ships. Victarion has ships. It just fits. However with GRRM that is probably more of a reason why he WONT reach Dany.

I love threads like this. Mainly because when I read a book, I devour it and miss many of the subtleties.

I honestly think hes dead
I just don't buy it. I think it's because he played a decent part in a GoT and just kind of disappeared. Very unMartinlike.

He served his purpose he got Jon to the wall then drew the watch out to the fist of first men. Now I don't think his story is done but I don't see him showing up alive.

I hear ya. The Lord of Light is a friend of the Dragon though, right? So his meeting Mohorro (sp?) would help him in his quest.

I wouldn't think it would hurt

So Jon's coming back?
To add to this, there's a couple things that make me think he is (outside of what's been mentioned).
First, if Martin wanted him dead I'd think he would have him cut down with something more than a couple stabs from a knife or two. Why do that when you could take him down with a sword instead and leave no doubt.
My newest crackpot theory to that is Melisandre has now realized that Jon is Azor Ahai reborn and she had it done so that he could be reborn.
Second, his arc hasn't finished yet. By a long shot. Just too many unanswered questions. He is also able to warg and others have warged into their animals to save their souls so to speak.
Lastly, Martin did an interview awhile back and when something was said about Jon being dead he said, "So you think he's dead ah?" in a manner that suggests that he's still alive in some shape or form. Especially since Martin has had a history of setting wayward fans right on theories and etc.

He is way more giving to the fans than most writers are.

Another theory/prophecy that I think is in the process of coming to fruition is Mirri Maz Duur's Prophecy regarding Dany and the return of Khal Drogo.
If you remember the prophecy went as this:
There is some speculation that this is all partly metaphorical in the sense that the sun rising in the west is Quentyn Martell (the sun's son) who journeyed from west to east to see Dany. That the seas going dry is the Dothraki grasses drying up (see Dany's last chapter in aDwD). That the mountains blowing in the wind like leaves is the pyramids of Mereen crumbling in smoke and ash. And that her womb did indeed quicken again when she either had a very heavy period or miscarriage in her last aDwD chapter.
Naturally this leaves the need for a living child which I think we may very well get from her either via Victarion or someone else.
Lastly, it's suggested that she'll name this child Drogo as his reincarnation (in name at least). Or that she will see Drogo again when she dies.
