Just watched this movie again.....horrifying! I cant imagine the terror that those poor innocent people went through. Those men who took back the plane are true heroes. What courage and bravery!! Its hard to say where our country would be currently had United 93 reached its destination of the White House. May god be with those who lost a loved one on that horrible day. Never forget!!

The target was actually the Capitol Building. Up until July 2001, Al Qaeda wanted United 93's target to be the White House but Mohammed Atta, the lead hijacker of American Airlines Flight 11 and leader of the attack itself, decided that the White House was too hard to see from the air. So they switched it.

it's so obvious that we shot that plane down. After watching this movie for the first time, you can tell that they kept trying to push the fact that no fighter jets could scramble fast enough.
they even had a couple of paragraphs before the credits, once again, focusing on the fighters not being able to scramble in time.
well.....i can tell you that before their plane crashed, there were two fighter jets on each side of my helicopter in the gulf of mexico telling us to turn around immediately.

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I'm going to assume you are.
If so, I would like to point out that the entire air traffic controller network was in disarray that morning due to uncertainty and lack of information. The two planes that crashed into the WTC had the program on high alert, but it also hindered their ability to properly track who was friendly and who was not. Multiple aircraft who didn't have a thing to do with the attack were unresponsive to hails due to the confusion and were never contacted until they touched down. Should we all assume that they were part of the conspiracy and didn't respond to keep these rogue planes from being identified?

i am telling you that two fighter jets were scrambled to my helicopter before flight 93 crashed.
besides, whey in the hell couldn't have they focused more on the heroes that tried avoid this catastophe instead of letting us know about the fighters that couldn't scramble?

After watching this movie you didn't feel that the passengers of Flight 93 were heroes?
It's not that the fighters couldn't scramble. Do you know that the Air Force only has 350,000 airman around the world combined? That includes every AFSC, which is the Air Force way of classifying jobs. How could they monitor each flight? They don't have the manpower.
I believe you when you say that fighters grounded your helicopter, but I also know that the government couldn't reach every single flight to ground them that day. Logistically it was impossible.

The National Air Traffic Control Center in Virginia didn't even know United 93 had even been hijacked until after it had crashed. And they were the ones who were telling the military which planes were regarded as suspected hijacks. President Bush didn't even give the military authorization to engage hijacked aircraft until 10:18 AM - United 93 crashed at 10:03 AM. And that order was never passed on to the fighters in the air due to the risk of an accidental shoot down.

Looks like a movie that will do nothing but depress me. I'll pass. 9/11 wasnt long enough ago to want to see the movie.

a few years back i was in Penn for a family function and decided to drive to shanksville where the plane went down.
one of the most erie feelings ive ever had. you're in the middle of a field and can hear nature and birds, etc and words just cant describe the feeling you get.
awful, just awful.
